The arrangement for disconnecting at least one of a plurality of battery modules in an automotive battery comprises a device arranged to detect that at least one battery module is to be disconnected, and a bypass switch arranged at each battery module, wherein the bypass switch arranged at the detected at least one battery module is controllable to bypass the at least one detected battery module via a bypass path. The arrangement further comprises a disconnect switch arranged at each battery module, wherein the disconnect switch arranged at the at least one bypassed battery module is controllable to disconnect the at least one detected battery module from remaining battery modules, either simultaneously as, or after, the bypassing of the detected battery module.

Battery module disconnect arrangement

A vehicle seat is provided with a squab, backrest and a headrest. The headrest is supported by one or more support elements. Each support element is connected by a connection to a respective drive element which is connected to a pressure plate located within the backrest. The drive element is guided for rearward movement by a guide which is formed fast with the frame of the seat. A pivot surface is provided located adjacent the support element such that, on rearward movement of the drive element, the support element engages the pivot surface to cause the headrest to move forwardly in a pivotal manner.

Vehicle seat

The safety arrangement for a motor vehicle incorporates primary restraint arrangement having a three-point seat-belt () and optionally one or more air-bags (). A secondary restraint system is provided in the form of a two-point seat-belt (). A sensor senses when the two-point seat-belt () is in use and provides a signal to a control unit () which adjusts the restraining effect provided by the primary restraint arrangement so that the overall restraining effect is the same regardless of whether the two-point seat-belt is, or is not, used. The use of the two-point seat-belt () provides enhanced occupant protection especially in a side-impact or rollover situation.
