A method and arrangement for severing packaging blanks, including a drive roller, a register roller at a location downstream of the drive roller and high-speed driving rollers downstream of the register roller for removing severed web portions. The drive roller is provided with a circumferential web-engaging surface and a knife located in a circumferential gap in the web-engaging surface. The drive roller cooperates with a counter roller, and a pendulum roller is located upstream of drive roller.

Method and an arrangement for the feeding of a material web

Packing container blanks for gable-top packages are cut out of a material web which, up to now, has caused an appreciable amount of waste material, since the edges of the blanks are irregular and cannot be 'dovetailed' into one another. A packing container blank is provided with partly straight, parallel lateral edges (11,12), and partly transverse edges (11,12) which are indented according to a regular pattern which is repeated over the width of the blank. As a result of the indentations, the edges of the blanks too can be formed without wastage.

A packing machine for the manufacture of packing containers wherein tubular packing container blanks which in flattened condition are placed into a magazine and wherein the feeding out of packing container blanks from the magazine is accomplished by a reciprocating driving element (7) located at the lower end of the magazine (7) which is provided with fingers which engage the open ends of the container blanks and to feed out one blank at a time is disclosed. As a result, a reliable operation, independent of the thickness of the blank, is obtained.

Arrangement on packing machines

A more space-effective method and device for the feeding of a material web (1) is obtained by making use of a web feeding unit (2) for feeding as well as correction of register. The web feeding unit (2) is provided for this purpose with two driving devices (14,15) which during operation are used alternately for feeding and register correction respectively of the material web.

A system for the transport and raising of packing container blanks to be utilized in packing machines which convert flattened, tubular packing container blanks to filled and closed packages. A simple and space-saving arrangement of this invention comprises gripping elements (10) placed along a conveyer (5) which in a continuous movement take up a blank (1) from the conveyer and raise the same to a square cross-section and pass it on in raised position.
