Various embodiments are directed to receiving, at a receiving device, a packet from a node in a first network. determining a version identifier for the packet, encoding the version identifier into the packet, and transmitting the packet containing the encoded version identifier to a load balancing device in a second network. The version identifier may be encoded into a destination port field of the packet. The receiving device may be a perimeter network address translation device. The packet is received at the load balancing device, where the version identifier is extracted and a hash of source address information is performed. The version and hash are used to select a back-end device in the second network. The packet is transmitted to the selected back-end device.

A method and a system for checking permissions compatibility between a configuration management system and an orchestration system of a computing cluster are disclosed. The method comprises: identifying a request to approve a change in at least one file of the computing cluster. Retrieving from a repository of the configuration management system an identity of a user for performing the change. Acquiring a denial response or an approval response received in response to a query provisioned to the orchestration system, the query is for rights to change the at least one file using the identity of the user. In response to the approval response, entering the approval response, into the configuration management system for confirming the checking permissions compatibility is approved. In response to the denial received, sending a message to the configuration management system, the message is indicative that the checking permissions compatibility is not approved.

Method and system for checking permissions compatibility between a configuration management system and an orchestration system of a computing cluster

A method implemented in a computer infrastructure having computer executable code tangibly embodied on a computer readable medium being operable to associate each of a plurality of tenants with a respective virtual portal and individually meter virtual portal usage at each respective virtual portal. The methods further comprise replacing the procedures in the code with wrapper procedures, where the wrapper procedures comprise instructions for storing one or more memory values, storing the asynchronous callbacks of the input parameters, replacing each of the input parameters with a wrapper callback, the wrapper callback comprising instruction for restoring the memory values and executing the asynchronous callbacks. The methods further comprise executing the original procedures. The methods further comprise executing the code with the wrapper procedures, providing the memory values present during execution of the procedure to be automatically available to the asynchronous callback executed later.

A method for continuously updating a set of replicas. The method comprises storing a plurality of replicas of data in a current configuration of members from a plurality of nodes, receiving a reconfiguration command by a member of said current configuration, selecting at least one estimated configuration from said plurality of nodes, receiving at least one write command by a member of said current configuration, disseminating said at least one write command to each member of said at least one estimated configuration and validating said at least one estimated configuration. At least one estimated configuration processes at least one of the write commands before the validating is completed.

A method of updating statuses of processes in a network is provided. The method may include the following steps: connecting N processes on a K-connected overlay network of nodes which is in operative association with a computer network; determining an update of subscription and un-subscription statuses of at least some of the processes; generating update messages reflecting the subscriptions and the un-subscriptions, the update messages being differences between previous update and current update; and propagating the update messages through the K-connected graph, such that at least some of the processes transfer the update to its respective K neighboring nodes, wherein at least one of the connecting, the subscribing, the unsubscribing, the generating, and the propagating is executed by at least one processor.

A method for communication includes receiving a request from a first party, submitted via a first communication service provider to a telephony application, to place a call using the application to a second party. Responsive to a characteristic of the call placed by the first party, a second communication service provider is selected to carry the call between the application and the second party. An inexpensive storage system is disclosed along with methods of managing such a system. In one preferred embodiment, the system includes a high performance high reliability storage medium configured for initial storage of data, a low performance high reliability storage medium configured for backup of data initially stored on the high performance high reliability storage medium, and a high performance low reliability storage medium, configured to receive data transferred from the high performance high reliability storage medium, after the data has been backed up on the low performance high reliability storage medium. This significantly reduces the cost of the system without substantially comprising performance. Reliability is likewise maintained owing to the high reliability backup.
