A method, mobile edge system and network system are provided for performing an application handover for mobile edge computing applications in a mobile communication network. The method includes: evaluating signal characteristics of radio signals sent by base stations received by a mobile device, wherein the mobile device is connected to the network via a first base station; exchanging data with a first mobile edge system assigned to the first base station, wherein the first system executes an application assigned to the mobile device; connecting the first system to a second mobile edge system depending on the signal characteristics, wherein the second system is assigned to a second base station; executing the application assigned to the mobile device on the second system; and performing a handover from the first base station to the second base station such that the mobile device is connected with the network via the second base station.

A method for the switchover of a mobile terminal device from a first radio network of a mobile radio system to a second radio network is described. The switchover is carried out on the basis of a CS fallback mechanism, and whereby, on the basis of the switchover, the mobile terminal device logs on to a base station of the second radio network in order to establish a connection. In conjunction with the log-on, the mobile terminal device transmits a notification pertaining to the CS fallback mechanism to the base station, and the base station registers the log-on of the terminal device as a function of the notification. Moreover, a base station and to a mobile terminal device for carrying out the method are also described herein.

Registration of radio network change based on a CS fallback mechanism

There is provided a method that relates to the setting up and/or maintaining of a connection between a machine-to-machine (M2M) device and a mobile communication network. In order to be able to adapt the connection management to the requirements of the M2M device, the M2M device may transmit an indication that it is an M2M device to the mobile communication network. At least one network node of the mobile communication network controls the setting up and/or the maintaining of the connection based on the indication. The network node may route a request for setting up the connection to a further network node based on the indication.

There is provided a method for a mobile communication device registering in second radio cell of a mobile communication network based on a deactivation of a first radio cell in which the mobile communication device was located. An exemplary method comprises determining a random time interval by the mobile communication device. An expiration of the random time interval is determined starting from a predetermined point in time. The exemplary method also comprises registering in the second radio cell, when the expiration of the random time interval has been determined.

Method and device for radio cell change due to energy saving in a mobile communication network

There is provided a method for locating a terminal device in a network system, at least one network having several cells that are combined to form one or more tracking areas. The one or more tracking areas are combined to form an equivalent area. An exemplary method comprises transmitting a locating message from the terminal device to a network when the terminal device enters an equivalent area. Locating messages are also transmitted from the terminal device to the network at predetermined time intervals. The method also comprises indicating via the locating messages a sub-area of an equivalent area in which the terminal device is located during the transmission of a locating message. The method additionally comprises storing at least the sub-area indicated in a most recently received locating message by the network. The method further comprises transmitting at least a first terminal device tracking call by the network within the stored sub-area in order to locate the terminal device.
