Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, apparatus of an evolved NodeB (eNB) comprises circuitry to configure one or more parameters for a 5G master information block (xMIB). The xMIB contains at least one of the following parameters: downlink system bandwidth, system frame number (SFN), or configuration for other physical channels, or a combination thereof. The apparatus of the eNB comprises circuitry to transmit the xMIB via a 5G physical broadcast channel (xPBCH) on a predefined resource, the xPBCH comprising a xPBCH. The xPBCH may use a DM-RS based transmission mode, and a beamformed xPBCH may be used for mid band and high band.

Physical broadcast channel design

A generation node B (gNB) configured for aperiodic channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) triggering and transmission may encode signalling for transmission to a user equipment (UE). The signalling to indicate an aperiodic Triggering Offset (aperiodicTriggeringOffset). The aperiodic Triggering Offset may comprise a slot offset. The gNB may encode a downlink control information (DCI) for transmission that may trigger transmission of a CSI-RS in one or more aperiodic CSI-RS resource set(s) (i.e., in one or more slots (n)). The DCI triggers transmission of the aperiodic CSI-RS within a triggered slot with the slot offset (i.e., the aperiodic TriggeringOffset). The gNB may transmit the CSI-RS in resource elements of the triggered slot in accordance with the slot offset, when CSI-RS resources are available in the slot at the slot offset. The gNB may postpone transmission of the aperiodically triggered CSI-RS to a first available downlink slot when the CSI-RS resources are not available in the triggered slot at the slot offset.

The present disclosure provides apparatuses, systems, methods, and machine readable storage medium for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission between a user equipment (UE) and a base station, based on a robust codebook. In an embodiment, a UE, including circuitry operable to: report a UE capability of the UE to a base station, wherein the UE capability comprises a number of phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) antenna ports (N) supported by the UE; decode control signaling received from the base station, wherein the control signaling comprises at least one parameter to indicate a precoder selected from a codebook based on at least the N; and perform physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission according to the indicated precoder; wherein the codebook is predefined or configured based on different numbers of PT-RS antenna ports and different waveforms, in the UE and the base station.

Various embodiments are generally directed to improved channel quality information feedback techniques. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus for a base station is provided that includes a radio interface and a processor coupled to the radio interface. The processor is configured to receive a channel quality indicator (CQI) index, wherein the CQI index is based on a channel state information (CSI) reference resource, further wherein a first three orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of the CSI reference resource are occupied by control signals, select a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) based on the CQI index, and cause transmission of the PDSCH based on the selected MCS via the radio interface. Channel quality information feedback techniques

Disclosed are systems, methods, and one or more computer-readable media (CRM) storing instructions for the triggering of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) by user equipment (UE) in a wireless cellular network. The UE measures a downlink reference signal. The UE also determines a condition for triggering a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) is satisfied based on the downlink reference signal. Then, the UE transmits a request for a base station of the wireless cellular network to provide the CSI-RS to the UE based on the condition being satisfied.

System and method for UE triggered CSI-RS

A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode downlink control information (DCI) from a base station, the DCI including a modulation coding scheme (MCS) index and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) allocation. A demodulation reference signal (DMRS) is encoded for transmission to the base station within a plurality of DMRS symbols based on the PUSCH allocation. A phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) time domain density is determined based on the MCS index and a number count of the DM-RS symbols for the DM-RS transmission. The PTRS is encoded for transmission using a plurality of PT-RS symbols based on the determined time domain density. The plurality of symbols includes one or both of front-loaded DM-RS symbols and additional DM-RS symbols.

Phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) configuration

Techniques are provided for selecting a spatial relation for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission by a user equipment (UE) operating in a multi-transmission reception point (TRP) multi-antenna panel environment. For example, the UE prepares a PUSCH transmission intended for a first TRP of a plurality of TRPs available to the UE in the wireless network, and determines a first antenna port group of a plurality of antenna port groups of the UE that is more directionally aligned with the first TRP than other antenna port groups of the plurality of antenna port groups. The UE further transmits the PUSCH transmission to the first TRP via the first antenna port group using a default spatial relation used for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) communication with the first TRP via the first antenna port group.

For single carrier based waveform, Discrete Fourier Transform-spread-OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) and single carrier with a frequency domain equalizer (SC-FDE) can be considered for both DL and UL. For OFDM based transmission scheme including DFT-s-OFDM, a cyclic prefix (CP) is inserted at the beginning of each block, where the last data symbols in a block is repeated as the CP. Typically, the length of CP exceeds the maximum expected delay spread in order to overcome the inter-symbol interference (ISI). For SC-FDE transmission scheme, a known sequence (guard interval (GI), unique word (UW), etc.) can be inserted at both the beginning and end of one block. Further, a linear equalizer in the frequency domain can be employed to reduce the receiver complexity. Compared to OFDM, SC-FDE transmission scheme can reduce Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and thus allow the use of less costly power amplifier.
