Luminaire for road lighting

A universal tiltable joint () for a lighting fixture () includes a first joint portion () having an axial joint axis (A), a second joint portion () having the axial joint axis, one of the first joint portion and the second joint portion housed co-axially within the other of the first joint portion and the second joint portion, a co-axial gap () between the first joint portion and the second joint portion allowing movement at an angle to the axial joint axis, the movement causing at least one of engagement or disengagement of a safety feature () on the first joint portion and the second joint portion.

A luminaire heat sink housing () which has a lens locking clip () which retains the lens () against a gasket (). Both the hinged locking clip () and the heat sink housing () may be extruded to any desired length and allows the lens be readily removed. The hinged locking clip () extends along a side of the housing () and lockingly slides into place to bias the lens () against a gasket () and seals the light engine within the interior of the heat sink housing. The locking clip is removable from the housing and includes a locking clip rotation head, lens retention surface and locking head to affix the lens in position against the gasket and in front of the LEDs ().
