A recloseable and resealable beverage can end closure includes a base plate beneath the center panel and a tab plate above the center panel. The closure is slidable relative to the center a panel to uncover the pour aperture and then to position the closure over the pour aperture to enable resealing.

Resealable beverage can end and methods relating to same

A one-piece re-sealable sealing device () for use with a container (), operable between a closed position and an open position in which, when the sealing device () is in the closed position it forms a folded shape comprising an upper part (), a middle part () and a base part (), hinged together. The sealing device () further comprises a lever () both for levering the sealing device () from the closed position to the open position, and for pivoting the sealing device () from the open position to the closed position to re-seal the container.

A plastic resealable closure includes a base plate affixed to a can, a middle plate having a plug, and a top plate having a support ring. The support ring expands or supports the plug to enhance sealing. The top plate includes prongs that are insertable into recesses on the base plate to enhance closing. The closure is applied without heating of the tool or the closure.

Resealable closure

An opening device of plastics material, which is suitable for closing and re-closing of a metal can end, for example. The opening device has two distinct parts: a base plate and a tab, which are joined together by an integral rivet. The opening device is used to close an aperture in the metal panel of a can end by fitting the base plate to the underside of the panel and connecting this to the tab on the top of the panel. A sliding action by pulling or retaining the tab actuates movement of the base plate for opening and reclosing of the closure panel.
