An electronic device, computer program product, and method enable presentation of age-appropriate augmented reality (AR) content by determining an age of wearer of an AR display device. The electronic device communicatively connects an electronic device to the AR display device. In response to determining that the electronic device is communicatively coupled to the AR display, a controller of the electronic device monitors or checks for information that indicates, or correlates to, an age of a person wearing the first AR display device being below a threshold age. In response to receiving information indicating that the person is below the threshold age, the controller selects customized AR content, customized for the person based on the age of the person and any identified personal preferences of the person. The controller presents, at the AR display device, the customized AR content, customized based on the age of the person.

An electronic device, computer program product, and method provide private messaging between people at a frequented location by using one or more AR display devices. The electronic device communicatively connects to a particular AR display device and attempts to identify access credentials to the electronic device of a particular person wearing the particular AR display device. The electronic device identifies that the particular person is a second person has limited access credentials, at the electronic device, to an AR user interface for leaving a private AR message intended for a first person who has full access credentials to the electronic device. The electronic device presents, at the particular AR display device, the AR user interface. The electronic device receives an AR private message from the particular AR display device and stores the AR private message for retrieval at the electronic device by first person.

The electronic device includes display device(s), a memory containing a content consumption monitoring (CCM) application, and a controller communicatively coupled to the display device(s) and the memory. The controller executes the CCM application to configure the electronic device to provide functionality of the detection of user attention including retrieving content from source(s) of content. The functionality includes monitoring presentation of, and user attention to, portion(s) of the content on the display device(s). In response to detecting that a period of time associated with the user attention to a particular portion of the content exceeds a threshold time for consuming the particular portion of the content, the functionality includes storing information associated with the particular portion of the content (e.g., location, a copy of content, and metadata) for subsequent user access.

Techniques for content protection for a glasses device are described and may be implemented to enable sensitive content on a glasses device to be protected from exposure to persons other than a user of the glasses device. Generally, the described implementations utilizing sensor data such as visual data from a camera to detect human gaze to determine whether a person other than a user of a glasses device is positioned to view sensitive content displayed by the glasses device. If a secondary person other than a user of a glasses device is detected as being positioned to view sensitive content, a protection process is implemented to mitigate exposure of the sensitive content to the secondary person.

A second camera sensor is configured to detect whether the eyes of the person are open or closed. A controller of the electronic device is communicatively coupled to the AR display device. The controller detects brightness of the ambient light. The controller dynamically adjusts brightness of the AR imagery in relation to the brightness of the ambient light. The controller reduces the brightness of the AR imagery in response to determining a brightness context that the eyes of the person have been closed for longer than threshold period of time.

The controller identifies at least one object within the image stream. The controller generates notification content associated with a particular object of the at least one object. A sensitive content display control system determines whether to display sensitive content on a computing device display, such as on a lock screen. The system attempts to authenticate a user of the computing device, and does not display the sensitive content if the user is not authenticated. An automatic mirror mode system determines when a user is facing a display device and is close to the display device, and when the intent of the user is to activate a mirror mode of the computing device. In response to determining that the user is facing the display device and is close to the display device, and that the intent of the user is to activate a mirror mode of the computing device, the computing device automatically enters the mirror mode. In the mirror mode, one or more images are captured using a front-facing camera and are displayed on the display device. This allows the user to, for example, check his teeth or hair before meeting someone, entering a meeting, and so forth.

A sensitive content display control system determines whether to display sensitive content on a computing device display, such as on a lock screen. The system attempts to authenticate a user of the computing device using an under-display sensor (e.g., a fingerprint sensor). One or more selectable items (e.g., icons or buttons) that correspond to sensitive content are displayed, and the under-display sensor is situated to sense authentication information of the user in response to user selection of one of the selectable items. If the user is not authenticated then the system does not display sensitive content corresponding to the one or more selectable items. If the user is authenticated, then the system displays the sensitive content corresponding to the selected item.

When a user approaches or accesses a device, the device attempts to recognize the user. A multi-user note management system takes different actions based on whether the user is recognized as the owner of the device, is recognized as a known user of the device, or is determined to be an unknown user of the device. If the user is recognized as the owner or a known user, the system receives user input and stores the user input as a note. If the user is an unknown user, the system does not allow the user to leave a note at the device, or receives user input and captures an image of the user, and stores the user input as a note associated with the captured image. When the owner of the device unlocks the device after a note has been left, the system displays or otherwise presents the notes.
