A communication card comprises an antenna, a memory, a signal evaluation circuit, an energy supply circuit, a data interface, a signal processing circuit and a supply voltage terminal. The supply voltage terminal is coupled to the signal processing circuit and the memory. In a commissioning phase, the energy supply circuit is configured to receive electrical power via the antenna and provide electrical power to the signal evaluation circuit and the memory, and the signal evaluation circuit is configured to receive configuration data via the antenna and to store the configuration data in the memory. In an operating phase, the communication card is configured to receive electrical power by the supply voltage terminal, and the signal processing circuit is configured to read the configuration data stored in the memory.

An integrated circuit includes at least one integrated cell disposed at a location of the integrated circuit. The at least one integrated cell may have two integrated devices coupled to at least one site of the integrated cell and a multiplexer, and the two integrated devices respectively oriented in two different directions of orientation. A first integrated device of the two integrated devices that is oriented in one of the two directions of orientation is usable. The integrated circuit may include a controller configured to detect the direction of orientation which, having regard to the disposition of the integrated cell at the location, may allow the first integrated device to be usable, and to control the multiplexer to couple the first integrated device electrically to the at least one site.

The integrated circuit may include at least one electronic protection circuit for protecting against at least one electrostatic discharge and being able to discharge the overvoltage current generated by the electrostatic discharge. The electronic protection circuit includes a controlled short-circuiting switch embodied in CMOS technology including a CMOS technology TRIAC or a CMOS technology thyristor arranged in anti-parallel with a CMOS technology diode, and a triggering circuit for controlling the short-circuiting switch.
