A smoking article includes a contoured filter element having a cylindrical rod end portion and a cylindrical mouth end portion and a contoured portion between the cylindrical rod end portion and the cylindrical mouth end portion. The contoured portion defines an exterior surface of the smoking article and having a first cross-sectional area that is less than a cross-sectional area of either the cylindrical rod end portion or the cylindrical mouth end portion.

A method of manufacturing a smoking article () comprises providing a mouthpiece () and an aerosol generating substrate () in axial alignment with the mouthpiece (). The mouthpiece () includes one or more segments () and a substantially transparent wrapper () circumscribing at least a portion of the one or more segments (). A sheet of paper material is provided and comprises a window in the paper material. The ratio of shrinkage of the substantially transparent wrapper () to shrinkage of the paper material at the time of manufacture of the smoking article is less than 3.5 when subjected to 15 percent relative humidity at 42 degrees Celsius for 3 hours. The sheet of paper material is wrapped around at least a portion of the transparent wrapper () so that an underlying mouthpiece segment can be viewed through the window and the substantially transparent wrapper ().

There is provided a smoking article comprising an aerosol forming substrate, a mouthpiece axially aligned with the aerosol forming substrate, a liquid delivery member and a wrapper surrounding at least a portion of the smoking article. The liquid delivery member is disposed in the aerosol forming substrate or in the mouthpiece, and comprises structural material releasably enclosing liquid. The wrapper includes at least one area permeable to the liquid and at least one area impermeable to the liquid. At least a portion of the at least one permeable area is aligned with or downstream of the liquid delivery member. When the liquid is released from the liquid delivery member, the liquid can migrate to the outer surface of the smoking article via the permeable area or areas of the wrapper.

The present invention relates to a smoking article () comprising a smokeable material and a mouthpiece (), the mouthpiece comprising at least three segments () in axial alignment. One segment defining a cavity () is disposed between two other segments () and a fluid-containing breakable capsule () is arranged in the cavity. A first wrapper () circumscribes at least the cavity, wherein the first wrapper comprises a substantially smooth transparent section overlaying at least a part of the cavity, such that the capsule is at least partially visible through the first wrapper. The first wrapper has one or more layers of transparent varnish applied thereto. The invention further relates to a mouthpiece for a smoking article and a method of producing a smoking article.

The present invention relates to a smoking article () comprising a mouthpiece (), a color change segment and a rupturable, fluid-containing capsule (). The color change segment is adapted to interact with the fluid from the rupturable fluid-containing capsule such that, upon interaction, the color change segment shows a color change when the capsule is ruptured. The smoking article comprises a permeable outer wrapper which is in a first region covered with an impermeable coating such that the first region is impermeable, wherein a second region, which is not covered by the impermeable coating, is permeable.
