An apparatus for analyzing a biological material component may include an impedance sensor comprising a first electrode having a first contact surface that contacts an analysis target, and a second electrode having a second contact surface that contacts the analysis target and that faces the first contact surface. The apparatus may include an impedance measurement assembly configured to measure impedance of the analysis target using the first electrode and the second electrode. The apparatus may include a processor configured to model the measured impedance as an equivalent circuit, and analyze a biological material component based on a modeling result.

An apparatus for analyzing an in vivo component is provided. The apparatus for analyzing an in vivo component may include an impedance sensor including a first electrode and a second electrode configured to contact a fluid channel of a fluid to be analyzed. The apparatus may include an impedance measurement device configured to apply a current to the first electrode and the second electrode, measure a voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode based on applying the current, and measure an impedance of the fluid based on the measured voltage. The apparatus may include a processor configured to model the measured impedance using an equivalent circuit; and analyze the in vivo component based on modeling the measured impedance using the equivalent circuit.

An apparatus and method for measuring an erythrocyte sedimentation rate based on a change in conductivity of blood over time. The apparatus for measuring an erythrocyte sedimentation rate may include: a chamber for holding blood; a pair of electrodes being partially or completely brought into contact with the blood; and a conductivity meter measuring the conductivity through the pair of electrodes. The apparatus and method according to the present invention are less time-consuming than the Westergren method and can acquire a variety of information (for example, hematocrit, dynamics of the sedimentation rate and aggregation of erythrocytes, a relationship between the sedimentation rate and aggregation of erythrocytes, and the like).
