Disclosed are methods and systems that can perform a loopback operation during a power loss protection (PLP) procedure. In some implementations, a method includes identifying, upon issuance of a command abort signal for aborting a command queued in the memory system, a current state of the command, receiving, by the memory system, one or more input/output (IO) packets corresponding to the current state of the command, and performing operations corresponding to the command on the one or more IO packets.

Techniques to more readily identify issues that arise in connection with memory systems and streamline the analysis process. A detailed activity log is generate with corresponding start and stop traffic events to facilitate identification of problems in memory devices. Each event registered in the log includes numerous items of information. The information facilitates identifying the origin of a particular problem including when and where it occurred, thus making failure analysis (FA) both easier and faster.

Logging mechanism for memory system

A scheme for handling program errors is provided for a memory system which includes a memory device and a controller including firmware and a memory interface. The firmware issues commands for program operations to the memory interface. After detecting a failed program operation in a particular memory block, the firmware reroutes that program operation to a different location in a different memory block and takes further action to reduce the likelihood of a subsequent error occurring in the same memory block in which the failed program operation occurred.

Memory system for handling program error and method thereof

Devices, methods and instruction sets are provided for performing operations with respect to analyzing firmware. A firmware event tracker includes a tracker event log in which events occurring during execution of firmware are recorded as event-items and stored in volatile. Flushing of event-items from volatile memory to non-volatile memory via a flush strategy and flush access path. In other aspects, the stored tracker event log, is used for performing failure analysis of the firmware.
