A packaged drum set including a carton having a top wall, a bottom wall, and a plurality of side walls one of which defines a transparent window; and wherein the walls form a chamber retaining a frame assembly which defines a first nest disposed in a lower portion of the chamber and second and third horizontally spaced apart nests disposed in an upper portion of the chamber. At least partially visible through the window are a bass drum disposed in the first nest; a snare drum disposed in the second nest; and a tom drum disposed in the third nest. The window provides a clear impression of the drum set retained within the carton.

A packaged musical instrument including a carton having a top wall, a bottom wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, an upper side wall, and a lower side wall together defining an inner chamber; and a guitar disposed in the cavity and having a body, and a neck joined to the body and terminated with a tuning head portion. Also included is a first insert disposed in and restraining the body in the cavity and having one side wall engaging a lower portion of the first side wall, another side wall engaging a lower portion of the second side wall, and an end wall engaging the lower side wall; and cavity; a second insert disposed in the cavity and having one portion engaging an upper portion of the first side wall, another portion engaging an upper portion of the second side wall, and a cross member extending between the one portion and the another portion with the cross member being shaped and arranged to support the neck; and at least one window defined by the top wall and displaying at least a portion of the guitar.

A support mechanism adapted for connection to a stand member, and for holding an instrument support arm in a desired position relative to the stand member, includes a receiving member adapted with a first receiving feature for receiving the stand member. A first receiving feature is a through hole adapted for variable positioning along the stand member. The receiving member is further adapted with a second receiving feature for receiving a ball member to form a ball joint. The ball member includes a third receiving feature for receiving the support arm. The third receiving feature is a through hole adapted for variable positioning along the support arm. The stand member and support arm are cooperatively connected through the ball joint.
