A plunger for advancing a substance in a syringe toward a dispensing nozzle. The plunger has a plunger rod and a seal and being formed of a plastic composition. The plastic composition includes a polymer and a filler which is non-uniformly distributed within the polymer to provide the plunger rod and the seal with different mechanical properties depending on the filler content in the portions of the plastic composition plunger forming the rod and the seal. The invention preferably provides a dental syringe which can be conveniently used, and further helps minimizing costs in the manufacturing of the dental syringe.

A mixer for mixing a dental composition comprises a mixer housing with a wall of the mixer housing forming a light filter. The light filter provides for substantially blocking light of certain wavelengths, whereas it transmits light of at least some other wavelengths. The invention may help to prevent dental compositions from degrading.

Mixer for mixing a dental composition

A dispenser comprising a body with an outlet, and a closure for the outlet. The closure and the body are pivotally movable relative to each other between an open position in which the outlet is open and a closed position in which the closure closes the outlet. The closure and the body are adapted for locking engagement with each another in the closed position. The closure has a locking member for locking and unlocking the closure and the body in the closed position. A force applied on the locking member for unlocking urges the closure toward the open position. The dispenser preferably facilitates the application of a material to be dispensed to a desired location.

Device for dispensing a flowable material

A dispensing device for a dental substance is provided which has an outlet for the dental substance, and a valve for opening and closing the outlet. The device is switchable between a storage mode and an operative mode. In the storage mode a cannula is locked in the device and the valve opens the outlet, and in the storage mode the cannula can be released from the device and the valve closes the outlet. The device may facilitate handling and may be relatively inexpensive.

Dispensing device for a dental substance

A device for dispensing a dental material comprises first compartment and the second compartment formed between interconnected sheet-like layers. The compartments encapsulate a first flowable component and a second flowable component of the dental material. The device has a first seal and a second seal for sealing the first compartment and the second compartment in the device. Each seal is adapted to automatically open in consequence of forcing a component of the dental material toward the seal. The capacity of the first compartment and the second compartment relative to each other is dimensioned such that squeezing out the first component from the first compartment by compressing the first compartment causes the first seal and the second seal to open. The device preferably allows easy and quick activation for use of the stored components.

Device for dispensing a dental material and method of dispensing

A device for mixing and dispensing at least two flowable components comprises a housing front face with an outlet for the components and a piston having a piston front face. The piston is arranged such that the piston front face and the housing front face are facing each other. The piston front face and the housing front face are adapted to form a channel for the components between each other. The device is adapted to reduce the channel upon urging the piston front face and the housing front face against each other and thereby to displace the components to flow toward the outlet. The device facilitates mixing and dispensing a multi-component dental material.

Device for mixing and dispensing flowable components

A package for a dental material comprises a compartment for holding a first substance of the dental material and an open reservoir at least partially formed by a wall of the package. The package is adapted such that the compartment and the reservoir are connectable for fluid communication. The reservoir accommodates a second substance of the dental material retained at a surface of the reservoir wall. The package preferably enables easy mixing of the dental material from the first and second substance, thus preferably facilitate a preparation and use of the dental material.

Package for a dental material and a method of manufacturing the package

A dispensing device for a dental material includes a cartridge having an outlet nozzle which forms a passageway for the dental material. The dispensing device further includes a closure which is placeable on the outlet nozzle for sealing the cartridge. The closure includes a pin for extending into the passageway, and is further adapted to seal with an outer surface of the outlet nozzle. The dispensing device is further adapted such that the pin is displaceable from the passageway by dental material dispensed from the cartridge, where the displacement causes the closure to release from the outlet nozzle. The invention may provide for relatively easy operation of the dental dispensing device.

Dispensing device for a dental material

A dispenser comprises a body with an outlet, and a closure for the outlet. The closure and the body are pivotally movable relative to each other between an open position in which the outlet is open and a closed position in which the closure closes the outlet. The closure and the body are adapted for locking engagement with each another in the closed position. The closure has a locking member for locking and unlocking the closure and the body in the closed position. A force applied on the locking member for unlocking urges the closure toward the open position. The dispenser preferably facilitates the application of a material to be dispensed to a desired location.

A system comprises an automatic mixing and dispensing device for a dental substance, and a material container. The mixing and dispensing device comprises a reservoir for receiving the dental substance, and first and second pressure plates. The material container has first and second material chambers for containing components of a material. The first and second material chambers have first and second cross-sectional chamber areas. At least one of the first and second cross-sectional chamber areas is smaller than smallest surface area of the first and second pressure plates. The system helps facilitating preparation and handling of dental materials.

System comprising a mixing and dispensing device and a material container

A syringe for dispensing a multi-component material. The syringe can include a cartridge having a first end and a second end, and respective compartments for components of the multi-component material; a static mixer connected to the first end of the cartridge, the mixer having a dispensing outlet; and a plunger assembly that is movable into the syringe cartridge at the second end to dispense material from the first end. A connection between the static mixer and the first end of the syringe cartridge includes a flow-directing mechanism having a venting position in which the cartridge compartments are cut off from the static mixer and are in communication independently with respective venting outlets, and a dispensing position in which the cartridge compartments are in communication with the static mixer and are cut off from the venting outlets.
