A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, a network node including a target central unit, CU, the target CU including a CU-CP, and a CU-UP, that are in communication with each other via at least one interface is provided. The network node configured to identify a handover request associated with an inter-system handover, determine a configuration for the CU-UP to one of add and omit a service data adaptation protocol, SDAP, header for at least one inter-system data packet that is to be transmitted to a wireless device and cause transmission of at least one message over the interface where the at least one message configured to initiate a bearer context procedure, indicate that the bearer context procedure is associated with the inter-system handover, and indicate the configuration of the CU-UP.

A method performed by a User Equipment, UE, is provided. The UE receives (s) a first message comprising a group identifier, ID, allocated for a particular multicast-broadcast services, MBS, session. While camping on radio access network, RAN, node that does not support MBS services and while being in a radio resource control, RRC, state other than RRC_CONNECTED, the UE receives (s) from the RAN node a paging message. The UE determines (s) whether the paging message comprises the group ID.

Systems and methods for session continuity of Multicast Broadcast (MB) Sessions are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a base station for session continuity of MB Sessions includes at least one of: providing at least one MB Session to a wireless device connected in 5G; determining that the wireless device is handed over to a target Next Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN); and providing session continuity of the at least one MB Session to the wireless device. In some embodiments, being handed over to the target NG-RAN comprises an Xn handover. In some embodiments, being handed over to the target NG-RAN comprises a N2 handover. Some embodiments of the current disclosure provide support for Multicast Broadcast Session continuity (aka 'Handover') at Inter-gNB Xn Handover and Inter-gNB N2 Handover in the 5G NR radio access.

Systems and methods related to core network and radio access network (RAN) interactions for a Multicast/Broadcast (MB) session are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method performed by an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) for a MB session join procedure includes receiving a MB session join request from a User Equipment (UE) via a RAN node, the MB session join request being a request to join a particular MB session. The method further includes determining that the MB session join request is permitted by a subscription of the UE, selecting a MB Session Management Function (MB-SMF) based on information included in the MB session join request, communicating with the MB-SMF to create a MB session context in the AMF and an MB session context in the MB-SMF, and sending a MB session join accept message to the UE.

A method for a transfer of a UE context within a secondary network from a source secondary network node to a target secondary network node. The UE is served by a master network node and the source secondary network node. The method includes the following steps performed by the UE: receiving a first message indicative of a secondary network node measurement configuration; based on the measurement configuration, performing measurements of potential candidates for a target secondary network node; and sending a second message comprising a measurement report indicative of the measurements of potential candidates for a target secondary node.

The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a first node for handling message delivery to a UE. The first node sends an indication to a second node. The indication indicates that the second node should inform the first node when one or more messages have been successfully delivered by the second node to the UE. The first node receives, from the second node, a confirmation of that the one or more messages have been successfully delivered by the second node to the UE.

A method performed by a first network node includes generating a data volume report based on one or more characteristics associated with data communicated between the first network node and a user equipment. A wireless device, a network node, a core node and methods therein, for managing reachability of the wireless device. The wireless device starts an AS (Access Stratum) reachable timer when entering an inactive state. If the AS reachable timer expires while still in the inactive state, the wireless device sends to the network node a reachable notification indicating that the wireless device is reachable. If entering a connected state before the AS reachable timer expires, the wireless device stops the AS reachable timer when changing from the inactive state to a connected state. If the core node receives from the network node a not reachable notification indicating that the wireless device is not reachable, the wireless device can be marked as not reachable via paging.

Methods, wireless device, network node and core node for managing reachability of the wireless device

Systems, methods, and apparatus for reporting a Downlink Data Delivery Status (DDDS) are disclosed herein. An example method includes a network node generating a DDDS frame including an indicator that a highest transmitted Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Packet Data Unit (PDU) sequence number is present in the DDDS frame, an indicator that a highest successfully delivered PDCP PDU sequence number delivered is present in the DDDS frame, a desired buffer size for a data bearer, the highest transmitted PDCP PDU sequence number, and the highest successfully delivered PDCP PDU sequence number. The network node provides the DDDS frame to a second network node.

Method to manage downlink data delivery status

Methods performed by base stations and wireless devices in networks are disclosed. A method performed by a base station comprises: initiating a QoS-flow to DRB remapping; informing a target base station that the remapping is ongoing; and providing the target base station an old and a new QoS-flow to DRB mapping, wherein the old mapping was in place before the remapping, and the new mapping will be in place after the remapping. Another method performed by a base station comprises: receiving an indication from a further base station that QoS-flow to DRB remapping is ongoing; receiving an old and a new QoS-flow to DRB mapping from the further base station; and receiving signals from a wireless device using the old and new QoS-flow to DRB mappings. A method performed by the wireless device comprises: sending data packets using a first QoS-flow to DRB mapping; receiving a new mapping; and sending an SOAR end marker, indicating that the wireless device is applying the new mapping. Also disclosed are base stations and wireless devices configured to perform the methods.
