An illumination device for a motor vehicle headlight for producing light distribution with a cut-off line. The device includes a light-permeable body, a light injection element and a light source, wherein the light injection element is designed to inject light emitted by the light source into the light-permeable body. The light injection element has a first deflection structure, which is configured such that light from the light source which enters the light injection element and strikes the deflection structure is totally reflected. The totally reflected light is directed at a second deflection structure which is arranged on an upper boundary surface of the light-guiding body and configured such that the light striking it is deflected to a first surface region of a first lower boundary surface of a screen device. The surface region deflects the light striking it into a region of the projection device, which projects the light as a sign light light beam into a region of the light distribution located above the cut-off line as additional light distribution, e.g., as sign light light distribution.

An illumination device for a motor vehicle headlight for producing light distribution with a cut-off line is provided. The illumination device has a light source, a light-permeable body, a light injection element for injecting light emitted by the light source into the light-permeable body, and a projection device, which has a focal surface and an optical axis. First and second optical exit structures are provided on a lower boundary surface of the body, which are configured such that light from the light source strikes an optical exit structure, exits the light-permeable body, propagates outside the light-permeable body to the projection device, and directly strikes the projection device and is thereby projected as sign light light beams into a region located above the cut-off line and forms a sign light light distribution. Two sign light light beams are projected in different partial regions of the region above the cut-off line.

Illumination device for a motor vehicle headlight for producing a dipped beam distribution, which has a homogeneous light distribution in the region below the intersection HV up to at least −3° along the vertical line V-V. The illumination device includes: (i) an illuminant for emitting light, (ii) a screen with a screen edge, wherein the screen includes a first and a second screen section, which are connected by a connecting section, and (iii) a projection optics system, which is designed to project the dipped beam distribution towards a main emission direction. The connecting section has a deflection surface, which extends along a plane with a spatial vector, which forms a first angle of 1° to 3°, preferably of 2°, to the first axis, and forms a second angle of 1° to 3°, preferably of 2°, to the main emission direction.

An optical system for a motor vehicle headlight, wherein the system includes at least two optical elements, including a light coupling area, a light decoupling area, a lateral surface which delimits the optical element and has an optically effective aperture edge for forming a bright/dark boundary in a far-field light distribution producible with the optical system. The system includes at least two anterior optics, wherein an anterior optic is associated with each optical element. The first anterior optic and first optical element are configured to produce a first far-field light distribution, wherein the second anterior optic and second optical element are configured to produce a second far-field light distribution, which lies below the bright/dark boundary of the first far-field light distribution.
