Some aspects of the invention provide an interactive, touch-sensitive user interface device. A user interface device for a data processing system is provided, which includes a sensor having a surface configured to contactingly receive a pointing device and further configured to detect physical contact by a living human and to differentiate between said physical contact and movement of the pointing device when the pointing device is engaged with the surface. The user interface device is operable to transmit information corresponding to said physical contact to the data processing system.

Interactive, touch-sensitive user interface device

Computer-implemented methods, computer program products and data processing systems for presenting dynamic data pertaining to a process. In one aspect, region information identifying a plurality of user-selected regions of the process, switching information identifying criteria for switching among the user-selected regions, and dynamic data pertaining to the process, are used to generate a dynamic visual representation of the process which emphasizes, at any given time, only one of the user-selected regions. The user-selected region emphasized at any given time is automatically determined according to the criteria for switching. In another aspect, region information identifying at least one user-selected region of the process and dynamic data pertaining to the process are used to generate a dynamic visual representation of at least a portion of the process containing the at least one user-selected region. The visual representation emphasizes each user-selected region within the context of the portion of the process.

Process data presentation based on process regions

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for single program code message retrieval for message queues. In an embodiment of the invention, a message queue data processing system can be configured for single program code message retrieval for message queues. The system can include a message queue executing in a host server and providing an API to applications communicatively coupled to the message queue over a computer communications network. The API exposed by the message queue can include a single program call including program code enabled to open a queuing resource in the message queue, to retrieve all messages in a message buffer from the queuing resource and to close the queuing resource.

Single program call message retrieval

A method, system, and computer-usable medium for automatically identifying the source of copied software. A single identifying marker can be embedded in a common code base associated with different software application products. A suspected copy of a product can be fed to an automated tool, which extracts the type of object code, which is then scanned to determine the identifying marker. The automated tool can therefore identify the exact product and version of the suspected copy utilizing the identifying marker and the type of object code without the need for labor-intensive modification of the common code base and product-specific markers.

Automatically identifying the source of copied software

A computer implemented method for determining when to change a representation type of at least one number stored in a memory of a data processing system. An operation is received in a processor of the data processing system. The operation references a number stored as a class of an object-oriented programming language. The number is stored as a first representation type. Responsive to the operation being biased towards the first representation type, a first counter is incremented. Responsive to the operation being biased towards a second representation type, a second counter is incremented. A counter reference is equal to a first value of the first counter subtracted from a second value of the second counter. Responsive to the counter reference exceeding a threshold number, representation of a subsequent number is changed from the first representation type to the second representation type.
