A power conversion system includes an electrical generator operable to generate an electrical power and an electrical transmission system that is operable to transmit the electrical power from the electrical generator, the electrical transmission system having a maximum physical power transmission rate. A flexible load is operable in response to the receipt of the electrical power from the electrical transmission system to convert a portion of the electrical power into a form of stored energy. The electrical transmission system is separate from any grid code regulated systems, and the electrical transmission system is configured to transmit electrical power from the electrical generator to the flexible load at a rate that is 75 percent to 100 percent of the maximum physical power transmission rate.

Electrical transmission system for flexible consumers

A system includes a combustion power plant for generating power and an electrolysis unit for producing hydrogen. The combustion power plant has a combustion chamber for combustion of a fuel and an offgas conduit for leading off hot offgases formed in the combustion of the fuel. The offgas conduit is thermally coupled to the electrolysis unit. A method for operating the system includes burning the fuel in the combustion power plant, forming the hot offgases in the combustion of the fuel, removing the hot offgases through the offgas conduit, feeding the thermal energy of the hot offgases from the offgas conduit to the electrolysis unit, and producing hydrogen in the electrolysis unit by using the thermal energy from the hot offgases.

An arrangement contains an asynchronous machine having a rotor and a stator. The arrangement is set up in a generator mode for feeding electrical energy into an AC voltage network. The arrangement is characterized in that the asynchronous machine can be doubly fed. The asynchronous machine can be connected in a matrix configuration to the AC voltage network by a modular multi-level converter, and the modular multi-level converter is set up in a motor mode of the arrangement for starting up the asynchronous machine while short-circuiting the rotor or the stator.

A converter assembly includes a converter with converter valves, each having power semiconductor switches. At least one fluid-tight encapsulation housing, in which at least some of the power semiconductor switches are disposed, forms a modular converter unit. The encapsulation housing is at least partially filled with an electrically insulating insulation fluid in order to electrically insulate the power semiconductor switches disposed in the encapsulation housing.

A converter arrangement converts an alternating input voltage having an input frequency into an alternating output voltage having an output frequency. The converter arrangement includes a direct converter on an input side having a plurality of input terminals and input-side converter units, transformers, the number of which matches the number of input terminals, and a direct converter on an output side having output-side converter units, and a number of output terminals, which number matches the number of input terminals. Each transformer is connected on the primary side to each input terminal via one each input-side converter unit, and is connected on the secondary side to each output terminal via one each output-side converter unit.

Modular matrix AC/AC multipoint converter having higher-frequency transformers

An arrangement for feeding electrical power into an AC grid includes a multiplicity of feed modules. Each feed module includes a converter module for converting a direct voltage into an alternating voltage, as well as a storage module for storing electrical energy. The storage module is connected to a direct voltage side of the converter module and an alternating voltage side of the converter module is configured for connection to the AC grid and/or to at least a further one of the feed modules, so that on the alternating voltage side the feed modules form a series circuit that can be connected to the AC grid. At least one of the storage modules is configured for connection to an energy generation plant.

Arrangement for feeding electrical power into an AC grid

An arrangement contains an asynchronous machine, which, in generator operation, is configured to feed electric power into an AC network. Accordingly, the asynchronous machine can be dual-fed by a modular multi-stage converter in a matrix configuration. The asynchronous machine has a rotor and the modular multi-stage converter is connected to the rotor of the asynchronous machine.
