A method detects electrical fault states of at least one energy storage cell of a removable battery pack using a first monitoring unit integrated in the removable battery pack and at least two temperature sensors integrated in the removable battery pack. In an electrical device, in particular a charging device, a diagnostic device or an electrical consumer, that can be electrically connected to the removable battery pack, a measured temperature of a first of the at least two temperature sensors is evaluated by a further monitoring unit of the electrical device and, essentially simultaneously, another measured temperature of a second of the at least two temperature sensors is evaluated by the first monitoring unit of the removable battery pack.

A method detects electrical fault states of a removable battery pack. Cell voltage values of a plurality of energy storage cells of the removable battery pack are detected by a first monitoring unit integrated in the removable battery pack and a voltage of the removable battery pack is detected by a further monitoring unit integrated in an electrical device, in particular a charging device, a diagnostic device or an electrical consumer, that can be connected to the removable battery pack. The cell voltage values detected by the first monitoring unit are transmitted to the further monitoring unit. The further monitoring unit sums the cell voltage values and compares this with the voltage value of the removable battery pack.

A method is described for charging an accumulator having terminals at which a terminal voltage is applied. The method includes the following steps: (a) charging the accumulator using a predefined current or a predefined electrical power until the terminal voltage has reached a predefined first value; (b) determining a time-dependent drop in the terminal voltage of the accumulator at a reduced charge current; (c) determining a second value on the basis of the voltage loss, the second value being greater than the first value; and (d) charging the accumulator using a predefined current or a predefined electrical power until the terminal voltage of the accumulator has reached the second value.

A battery charging device includes: at least one power electronics unit supplying a charging voltage; at least one cooling unit cooling the power electronics unit; and an electronics housing accommodating the at least one power electronics unit in at least one of water-tight and dust-tight manner. The invention relates to a battery pack comprising at least one battery cell and a housing for accommodating the at least one battery cell. It is proposed that the housing is designed as at least double-walled having at least one inner sheath and one outer sheath. According to the invention, an intermediate volume is enclosed between the at least one inner sheath and the outer sheath. The intermediate volume is able to absorb a pressure wave from an internal volume containing the battery cells.
