An aircraft passenger seating unit and aircraft seating arrangements including seating units, each seating unit configured as a window-facing seating unit or as an aisle-facing seating unit. Each individual seating unit including first and second laterally adjacent seats mounted on a common platform and oriented at an angle to a longitudinal aircraft axis. A forwardmost point of each of the first and second seats, when in an upright sitting position, resides along a plane common to both the first and second passenger seats perpendicular to the longitudinal aircraft axis to allow longitudinal alignment of rows and increased seating density.

Passenger seating groups positionable in a column in an aircraft between a longitudinal aisle and a fuselage wall. Each passenger seating group includes a first passenger seat positioned along an aisle side and facing a first direction, a first footwell positioned along the aisle side and facing the first passenger seat, a second passenger seat positioned along the wall side and facing the first direction, and a second footwell positioned along the wall side and facing the second direction to serve a second passenger seat in an adjacent like seating group. Each seat has its own dedicated entry from the longitudinal aisle and seats within the same seating group are physically separated by privacy walls.

A reactive illuminated wireless charging surface incorporated into a seating module or worksurface aboard an aircraft or other mobile platform has a translucent exterior surface beneath which a wireless charging device may be positioned and over which a PED may be placed for charging. The illuminated wireless charging surface may incorporate arrays or strips of individually addressable light emitting diodes (LED) or other like luminous devices set into flexible printed control boards (PCB) beneath the exterior surface. The illuminated wireless charging surface may have a display controller for driving the LED arrays in practical or aesthetically appealing ways to provide dynamic visual indication of a charging status, e.g., by adjusting individual LEDs or groups thereof to shift in color or intensity according to predetermined or preprogrammed patterns.

An interior configuration for an aircraft including a longitudinal aisle and rows of passenger seats, wherein a row of the passenger seats is disposed in a flexible use space adjacent the aisle and a bulkhead, and wherein the flexible use space includes a floor pallet and attendant seats equipped with flip-up seat bottoms such that the flexible use space can be configured for passenger seating or to provide securement space within the flexible use space for securing items such as a wheelchair, pet carrier, large items and items of value.

An integrated passenger service unit (PSU) is disclosed. The integrated PSU includes a housing installable into an aircraft overhead panel and a control knob set into, and positionable relative to, the housing. The housing incorporates signage elements (e.g., fasten seat belts, no smoking) visible through its exterior surface, as well as reading lights and gasper outlets set thereinto (e.g., as adjacent segments of an annulus). Each reading light includes an LED array selectably configured to illuminate the corresponding seat, and each gasper outlet directs an airstream toward the seat. The housing includes a notification ring configured to illuminate when the passenger calls a flight attendant. A control knob is set within the housing and positionable relative thereto. The control knob incorporates an LCD display and user interface (UI) which allows the occupant or passenger to view and adjust the status of the reading lights, gasper outlets, and notification ring.

A modular panel system for attachment to an overhead stowage bin including an elongate bracket, a plurality of spacers, and at least one panel removably attached to the plurality of spacers without requiring tools to facilitate panel interchangeability independent of stowage bin structure. The at least one panel can be marked with, for example, branding, cabin class designation, advertising or wayfinding.

In an illustrative embodiment, a frame assembly for enclosing an electronic device mounted to a rear surface of a seatback of an aircraft seat includes a rear frame for mounting within a recess of the rear surface of the seatback, a front frame detachably connected to the rear frame such that the electronic device, when mounted in the frame assembly, is enclosed between the front frame and rear frame, the front frame including an opening defining a boundary of a visible screen region of the electronic device, and an adapter disposed between the rear frame and the rear surface of the electronic device, the adapter including an aperture configured to receive the rear surface of the electronic device and raised peripheral edges surrounding the aperture to adapt the dimensions of the electronic device to the dimensions of the rear frame.

A cable actuating mechanism that actuates through a central pivot axis of a pivoting mechanism including two articulating cable actuators that contact opposing ends of a floating pin that passes through the center of the pivot. One actuator is affixed to a stationary assembly of the pivot device and the other actuator is affixed to a rotating body of the device. A first cable pulled at one end of the device pulls a second cable at an opposing end of the device through the articulating cable actuators. The cable actuating mechanism can be used to unlock, for example, a seat recline lock device in an aircraft seat equipped with a pivoting armrest, among other applications within and outside of an aircraft cabin environment.

A unified passenger service unit (PSU) control concentrically incorporates a reading light, a gasper outlet, and a notification ring within a control knob rotatable or pushable (via a pushbutton or the control knob itself) by an occupant of the aircraft seat to which the PSU control corresponds. The notification ring may be activated by the passenger or by the cabin crew, and may be visible throughout the aircraft. The notification rings may indicate an attendant call, or be activated by the crew in groups or waves to direct passenger activity. The PSU control includes a user interface (UI) display that serves as a control interface for the gasper outlet and reading light. The UI display may also show indicators or messages sent by the cabin crew.

A seating arrangement for a cabin of a passenger aircraft that includes 5-abreast passenger accommodation suites, each including a privacy wall and a seat movable between a seating position and a lie-flat bed position, and adapted to be laterally positioned in the aircraft cabin in respective adjacent outboard, middle and inboard positions. Three of the suites are adapted to be positioned in a longitudinally-offset position in relation to each other and defining respective ingress/egress paths to a cabin aisle extending along a longitudinal axis of the aircraft cabin adjacent the third suite. Two of the suites are positioned in a longitudinally-offset position in relation to each other and defining respective ingress/egress paths on the opposite side of the cabin aisle. At least some of the suites define an angular offset relative to the longitudinal axis of the cabin aisle.
