An intelligent gardening system and method for monitoring and analyzing a moisture level in individual gardening pots and/or containers is provided. A system comprises a moisture measuring sensor integrated into a pot/container. A gardener can read moisture-related data using a mobile device, a computer, or a tablet, or directly from built-in display. The gardener can send the moisture level-related data along with other data (such as, a type of a plant, a soil type, size of a pot, a plant size, location, current weather, an air temperature, etc.) to a central server connected to a central gardening database or to a cloud service and receive gardening recommendations. The gardening recommendations can include other recommendations pertaining to a particular plant and gardening conditions.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for distributed information systems and architectures. Certain embodiments provide a distributed healthcare information system. The distributed information system includes a back-end subsystem providing content including services, applications, and workflows for healthcare execution. The content is configured for generally application to a plurality of domains. The system also includes a platform subsystem providing domain specific extensions to customize the content of the back-end subsystem for particular domains. The platform subsystem is in communication with the back-end subsystem to access the content. The system further includes a front-end subsystem providing a graphical user interface for a user to access functionality and information based on the content as customized by the domain specific extensions. The front-end subsystem is in communication with the platform subsystem to access the content.

Architecture and methods for sophisticated distributed information systems

Certain embodiments provide systems and methods for adaptive compression, transmission, and display of clinical images. Certain embodiments provide a method for adaptive compression of image data for transmission and display at a client workstation. The method includes identifying one or more images for display, the one or more images including a plurality of image slices. The method also includes determining a compression scheme for the one or more images based on at least one of bandwidth, processing power, and diagnostic modality. The method further includes transferring the one or more images for display at the client workstation. The method additionally includes adapting the compression scheme based on resource availability.

Certain embodiments provide systems and methods for image delivery in a picture archiving and communication system. Certain embodiments provide a method for transferring image data via a delivery chain for display at a client workstation. The method includes creating a data list describing image data to be delivered to implement an imaging workflow. The method includes establishing a general loading plan to specify a recommended priority for delivery of the image data in the data list. The method includes generating a node loading plan for each node in the delivery chain based on the general loading plan. The method includes reconciling at least one of the general loading plan and the node loading plan. The method includes delivering the image data via the nodes of the delivery chain based on the general loading plan, the node loading plan for each node in the delivery chain, and the data list.

Systems and methods for delivering media content and improving diagnostic reading efficiency

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for image layout and display on a display such as a PACS workstation display. Certain embodiments provide a method for image layout on a display. The method includes detecting an event related to movement of an image for placement on a display. The method also includes overlaying a navigation grid on at least a portion of the display. The navigation grid includes one or more sections corresponding to sections for content on the display. The method further includes indicating a section of the grid into which the image is to be positioned. In addition, the method includes updating the display to reflect the position of the image.

Certain examples provide systems, apparatus, articles of manufacture, and methods for medical device interface overlay. In an example, an article of manufacture includes an overlay for a clinical device touchscreen interface. The overlay includes a background surface formed to contact a touchscreen interface. The overlay also includes a plurality of touch areas formed in the background surface of the overlay device. Each of the plurality of touch areas is to provide a tactile boundary for a corresponding touchscreen interface function. The plurality of touch areas includes at least one of a plurality of openings and a plurality of recessed areas including a material thickness less than the material thickness of the background surface. The plurality of openings and the plurality of recessed areas allow user contact and interaction with the user interface underneath the overlay.
