A delivery vehicle with sensors having overlapping fields of view is described herein. In an example, a cargo bay is mounted to a chassis. A sensor system is mounted to the cargo bay and includes a plurality of cameras that have a first collective 360° field of view along a first plane and that form pairs of adjacent cameras. The cameras in each one of the pairs have overlapping fields of view along the first plane. The sensor system also includes a plurality of light sources configured to emit collectively light along the first collective 360° field of view. A first light source of the plurality of light sources is mounted adjacent to a first camera of the plurality of cameras.

A mobile robot (for example, a robot used for package deliveries, among other purposes) may include a mast with a visual indicator for providing visibility to drivers and pedestrians in the environment proximate to the mobile robot. The mast may produce a large moment arm, which may result in the mast being more likely to break off from the robot. To mitigate or prevent damage to any components of the mast and/or the mobile robot when such a breakage occurs, described herein is an omni directional breakage joint that is used to connect the mast to the mobile robot. The omni directional breakage joint comprises multiple ball and socket joints that provide structural support between the mast and the mobile robot, while simultaneously allowing for a certain movement freedom of the mast and allowing for the mast to easily be engaged and disengaged from the mobile robot without causing damage to any components.

Inventory locations such as shelves in a materials handling facility may be used to store items of various shapes and sizes. Described is a modular item stowage system with hardware that incorporates several components that may be readily reconfigured to accommodate changes in store layout, product presentation, and so forth. The components may include one or more of an instrumented auto-facing unit, divider, spacer, and so forth. The hardware may also support onboard electronics such as sensors to acquire sensor data and computing devices to process the sensor data.

A fixture includes a shelf upon which items may be placed. In one implementation, the shelf is supported by four load cells that provide load cell data that may be used to calculate weight data for the load on the shelf. The load cells are mounted underneath a frame, with an upper portion of a load mount extending upward through the frame and engaged to the shelf. The shelf and the frame include stiffeners to increase rigidity, improving the quality of the load cell data. Electronics and a wiring harness are located underneath the frame. In this configuration, assembly of the fixture may be accomplished completely from the underside, simplifying assembly.

Inventory locations in a materials handling facility may be used to store items of various shapes and sizes. Described is an auto-facing unit designed to stow and arrange items against a front of the unit in a uniform fashion. The auto-facing unit may include one or more sensors to generate sensor data. The sensor data may be used to determine a quantity of items remaining in the auto-facing unit. The auto-facing unit and associated structures may be readily reconfigured to accommodate changes in store layout, product presentation, and so forth.

Inventory locations such as shelves in a materials handling facility may be used to store items of various shapes and sizes. Described is an inventory location that houses onboard electronics such as sensors to acquire sensor data and computing devices to process the sensor data. The sensors may include one or more weight sensors, position encoders for auto-facing units, and so forth. The inventory location includes features to protect the onboard electronics and facilitate physical reconfiguration to support products of different shapes and sizes.

A housing for a luminaire is disclosed herein. The housing can include a central portion forming a substantially closed shape and having an inner area therewithin, where the central portion is thermally conductive. The central portion can include an upper end and a lower end adjacent to the upper end. The housing can also include a number of fins thermally coupled to and extending inward and outward away from the upper end of the central portion, where the plurality of fins are thermally conductive.
