The disclosure relates to an operating method for a coating system, in particular for a painting system, for coating components (), in particular motor vehicle body components (), having the following steps:

Coating system and associated operating method

A coating system for coating components, e.g., for paining motor vehicle body components, is provided. The system includes a coating booth, a conveying system, an application system, a process technology system, a safety system, and a robot system. The robot system includes at least one multi-axis coating robot for guiding the application device and a control unit. The control unit also controls the conveying system, the application system, the safety system and/or the process technology system.

Centrally controlled coating system for painting motor vehicle body components

The invention relates to a control method for a robot () having a plurality of movable robot axes (), in particular for a painting robot () or a manipulating robot, comprising the following steps: (a) predetermining a robot path by means of a plurality of path points through which a reference point of the robot () is intended to travel; (b) controlling drive motors of the individual robot axes () according to the predetermined robot path, such that the reference point of the robot () travels through the predetermined robot path; (c) precalculating the mechanical loading (My, Mx, Fx, Fy, Fz, Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, Mz) that occurs within at least one of the robot axes () between two joints when travelling through the robot path ahead; and also (d) adjusting the control of the drive motors of the robot axes () on the basis of the precalculated mechanical loading (My, Mx, Fx, Fy, Fz, Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, Mz), such that a mechanical overload is avoided.

Control method for a robot

A rotary atomizer arrangement and methods for operating the same are disclosed. An exemplary atomizer may be used for the coating of work pieces, and may include a bell plate driven by an electric motor. The exemplary atomizer may further be configured for the detection of errors in the spraying process and/or the drive system of the bell plate, such as by analyzing corresponding parameters of typical values of the drive motor.

Method for process diagnosis and rotary atomizer arrangement

Exemplary coating devices and methods are disclosed. An exemplary coating device may include an atomizer for applying a spray jet of a coating means or material to a component, at least one directing air nozzle for outputting shaping or directing air in order to shape the spray jet, and a temperature-control device for controlling the temperature of the directing air. The coating device may further include a control unit which activates the temperature-control device as a function of at least one operating variable of the atomizer in order to set a predetermined directing air temperature.

Coating device and coating method having a constant directing air temperature

A robot arrangement, for example for a painting booth, and exemplary methods associated with the same, are disclosed. An exemplary robot arrangement may comprise a displacement rail, a plurality of robots, such as painting robots or handling robots, which can be displaced along the displacement rail, and a plurality of energy supply chains. The energy supply chains may supply one of the robots each, and may be associated with said robot, and each of the energy supply chains may run along the displacement rail in a particular track. The energy supply chains which are associated with the robots on the same displacement rail may run in discrete tracks.

Robot arrangement, in particular in a painting booth

A predetermined robot path includes a plurality of path points defined by spatial coordinates. Spatial coordinates of the individual path points are converted in accordance with inverse robot kinematics into corresponding axis coordinates, the axis coordinates representing the position of the individual robot axes at respective path points. Axis-related controllers are actuated for individual robot axes in accordance with converted axis coordinates. Axis-related drive motors in individual robot axes are actuated by at least associated axis-related controllers. Path correction values are determined for individual path points on the robot path in accordance with a dynamic robot model, the path correction values taking account of the elasticity, friction, and/or inertia of the robot. Corrected axis coordinates are determined for the individual path points from uncorrected axis coordinates of individual path points and path correction values. The axis-related controllers are actuated with at least corrected axis coordinates.

Movement controller for elastic robot structures

A dedusting device and method is disclosed for the dry or moist dedusting (i.e., cleaning, dusting, or removal of dirt, dust, or other debris) from components, e.g., of motor vehicles. An exemplary method may generally include positioning a dusting tool driven by a drive motor in a predetermined dusting position such that the tool contacts or touches the component, and determining a first operating variable of the drive motor of the dusting tool when positioning the dusting tool in the predetermined dusting position. The first operating variable may reflect a mechanical load of the drive motor due to the contact with the component to be dusted. The method may further include calculating a corrected dusting position as a function of the predetermined dusting position and the first operating variable of the drive motor, and positioning the dusting tool in the corrected dusting position.
