In a method and system for monitoring an underground cable in a site of interest, multiple samples of magnetic field data and corresponding location data are collected periodically over a sampling period of extended time. The magnetic field data samples and corresponding location data are processed to determine respective topologies of one or more current-carrying conductors in the site and for each of the conductors respective magnetic field data relating to each sampled point are integrated with respect to a predetermined parameter of the respective conductor so as compute an integrated contribution of each sampled span along the respective conductor. The data relating to different conductors in the site are output in a manner that allows determination of a conductor for which the parameter changes during the sampling period.

Method and system for monitoring an underground electric cable

A phased antenna arrangement and a method for estimating the calibration ratio of an active phased antenna having a plurality of phased array antenna elements are described. The phased antenna arrangement includes a plurality of antenna elements, a plurality of receiving channels, an injection unit for injection of calibrating signals into the receiving channels, a point RF-source, located in a far field zone, a distance measurement unit, an amplitude and phase measurement unit and a data processing unit. The method comprises injecting an internal calibrating signal having a known amplitude and phase to each antenna element. An external calibration signal from a stationary RF-source is sequentially injected to all of the phased array antenna elements so that different phases of the external calibration signal arrive at each of the antenna elements. The differences in phases of the external calibration signal reaching the antenna elements are compensated so as compute an effective signal amplitude that would reach all of the antenna elements at zero phase difference. Calibration ratio is calculated as the ratio between the amplitude of the internal calibrating signal to the effective signal amplitude of the external calibration signal.

Phased array antenna having integral calibration network and method for measuring calibration ratio thereof

A phased array radar antenna includes at least two antennas () adapted for simultaneous operation at different non-mutually interfering frequencies. The phased array radar antenna may be fitted to an aircraft having a fuselage supporting first and second radar side antennas () on opposite sides thereof, a nose portion supporting a first radar end antenna (), and a tail portion supporting a second radar end antenna (). Respective radomes cover the first and second radar end antennas so as to provide a smooth aerodynamic contour, and a radar control unit () is disposed within the fuselage and coupled to the first and second radar side antennas and to the first and second radar end antennas for operating the first or second radar side antenna simultaneously with the first or second radar end antenna at respective first and second different frequencies.

Phased array radar antenna having reduced search time and method for use thereof

A method and system for SNR enhancement in pulse-Doppler coherent target detection for applications in the fields of radar and ultrasound. In accordance with the method of the invention, complex signals are obtained for each of two or more sub-intervals of the time-on-target interval, allowing simultaneous range and Doppler measurements. A coherent integration is the performed on the signals to generate complex-valued folded matrices. The folded matrices are unfolded and target detection is then performed in a process involving one or more of the unfolded matrices. A pulse-Doppler coherent system is also provided configured for target detection by the method of the invention.
