A catheter ablation system includes: a catheter probe having distal end including: a temperature sensor; a plurality of irrigation holes; and an ablating electrode; a radiofrequency (RF) heating controller coupled to the catheter probe and configured to supply RF energy to the ablating electrode to control the ablating electrode to emit heat at a target power; an irrigation controller coupled to the catheter probe and configured to supply an irrigation fluid at a continuously adjustable irrigation flow rate through the catheter probe to exit through the irrigation holes; and an operating console having a processor and memory, the memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to control the irrigation controller to set the irrigation flow rate based on the target power and a target average temperature.

System and method for temperature control in irrigated ablation

A pump for use with a tube, having a rotor having an axis of rotation and a plurality of rollers configured to define an orbital path about the axis of rotation, the orbital path defined by a radius, and a roller bed having a surface adapted to support the tube for peristaltic compression by one or more rollers, wherein the surface has a predetermined profile comprising a circular arc segment and at least one side segment, the arc segment having a first curvature defined by the radius, and the at least one side segment having a second curvature lesser than the first curvature.

An apparatus includes a body, a catheter, and a fluid connector assembly. The catheter extends distally from the body and includes at least one electrode and at least one irrigation port. A fluid conduit is in fluid communication with the at least one irrigation port. A fluid connector assembly extends proximally from the body and includes a fluid connector body and a grounding member. The fluid connector body is configured to couple with a complementary connector associated with a fluid source. A proximal end of the fluid conduit is positioned in an interior region of the fluid connector body. The grounding member is interposed between the proximal end of the fluid conduit and the fluid connector body. The grounding member is in communication with the interior region of the fluid connector body such that the grounding member provides an electrical ground to fluid communicated to the fluid conduit via the fluid connector body.

Electrical grounding feature for irrigation fluid path in catheter assembly

A catheter with an electrode assembly has a functional electrode located at a first position on the electrode assembly and a shunting electrode located proximal to the first position. Irrigation fluid carried by the catheter may be electrically coupled with a patient's blood through the shunting electrode. The shunting electrode may be used to reduce noise in an electrocardiogram signal that results from the pump used to supply the irrigation fluid.

A console for performing a medical procedure has connection ports for electrically coupling equipment. Each connection port may have an associated indicator that signals whether a piece of equipment should be connected to the respective connection port. The indicators may be selectively activated depending on the procedure being performed with the console.

System and method for catheter connections

A catheterization system that includes an electrophysiologic (EP) catheter which has a lumen receiving an electrically conductive fluid delivered by a hydraulic line that is acted upon by a peristaltic pump advantageously avoids noise in intracardiac ECG signal recordings by using an electrical connection to short triboelectrical charge carried by the conductive fluid in the hydraulic line to an existing analog ground in the system. In one embodiment, the electrical connection includes an electrically conductive wire housed in the control handle and configured to provide electrical connection between the fluid and a pin on a printed circuit board housed in the control handle that is electrically connected to the analog ground. In another embodiment, the electrical connection shorts the electrically conductive fluid proximal of the control handle of the catheter.
