A method for allocating space among a plurality of queues in a buffer includes sorting all the queues of the buffer according to size, thereby to establish a sorted order of the queues. At least one group of the queues is selected, consisting of a given number of the queues in accordance with the sorted order. A portion of the space in the buffer is allocated to the group, responsive to the number of the queues in the group. A data packet is accepted into one of the queues in the group responsive to whether the data packet will cause the space occupied in the buffer by the queues in the group to exceed the allocated portion of the space.

Buffer management policy for shared memory switches

A method for managing the execution of an optimized code. The method comprises of the steps of: (1) receiving at least a description of flow graphs of the optimized code and of a source code from which the optimized code was originated; receiving additional information that maps said flow graphs; and (2) managing the execution of the optimized code according to a selected mode and to at least one matched breakpoints being set along at least one path of the optimized flow graph.

Method for allowing execution management of optimized code

A method for determining a status of a variable during an execution of an optimized code, the optimized code being originated from a source code, the method comprising the steps of: (A) Receiving at least a source flow graph, an optimized flow graph and information that describes a connection between instructions within the optimized code and statements in the source code; receiving a request to show the status of the variable at a breakpoint. (B) Generating a source reaching definition set and a reflected optimized reaching definition set. (C) Comparing the source reaching definition set and the reflected optimized reaching definition set and determining a status of a variable.
