A vehicle control system includes a first error module that determines a first yaw error based on a difference between a yaw rate of the vehicle and a target yaw rate. A second error module determines a second yaw error based on the first yaw error and a target yaw error. A target yaw error module sets the target yaw error based on a skill level of a driver of the vehicle. An adjustment module selectively one of increases and decreases a target adjustment when the second yaw error is greater than a first predetermined threshold. An actuator control module, in response to the increase in the target adjustment, actuates a dynamics actuator of the vehicle.

Vehicle dynamics actuator control systems and methods

A vehicle control system includes a skill level module that determines a skill level of a driver of the vehicle based on both (i) a lateral acceleration of the vehicle and (ii) a longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle. A handling module determines a handling type based on a rate of change of a steering wheel angle. An actuator control module, based on the skill level of the driver and the handling type, selectively actuates a dynamics actuator of the vehicle.

Systems and methods for classifying driver skill level and handling type

A vehicle control system includes a function that relates (i) pairs of lateral and longitudinal acceleration values to (ii) skill values. A skill module: receives both (i) a lateral acceleration of the vehicle and (ii) a longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle; and, using the function, determines a skill value of a driver of the vehicle based on both (i) the lateral acceleration of the vehicle and (ii) the longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle. A skill level module determines a skill level of the driver of the vehicle based on the skill value. An actuator control module, based on the skill level of the driver, selectively actuates a dynamics actuator of the vehicle.

Systems and methods for classifying driver skill level

An engine control module (ECM): based on an accelerator pedal position measured using an accelerator pedal position sensor, determines at least one of a predicted engine speed and a predicted torque output of an engine; and transmits the at least one of the predicted engine speed and the predicted engine to a network bus. An audio control module: is separate from the ECM; obtains the at least one of the predicted engine speed and the predicted torque output from the network bus; based on the at least one of the predicted engine speed and the predicted torque output, sets at least one of a frequency at which to output a predetermined engine sound and a magnitude for outputting the predetermined engine sound at the frequency; and applies power to at least one speaker of the vehicle to output the predetermined engine sound at the frequency and the magnitude.

Engine sound enhancement systems and methods using predicted values

In accordance with exemplary embodiments, a system and method are provided for using tire temperature for dynamically adjusting active chassis systems of a vehicle. The method comprises determining a tire temperature value for at least one tire of a vehicle using at least one sensor and adjusting at least one active chassis system of the vehicle responsive to the tire temperature value. The system comprises a chassis having an engine providing power to tires to propel the vehicle. At least one active chassis system is configured to control braking, power applied or control inputs to the tires, and a controller is configured to determine a tire temperature value for adjusting the at least one active chassis systems. The at least one active chassis systems are adjusted responsive to the tire temperature value provided by the controller to control braking, power applied or control inputs to the tires.
