A roof for a convertible vehicle includes first and second roof parts which can be moved by a bearing mechanism between a closed position which covers an interior of the vehicle and a lowered position in a rear roof deposition space which exposes the vchicle interior. A locking device is provided for interlocking of the first and second roof parts in the closed position of the roof. The locking device has a first closing unit for mutual interlocking of the first and second roof parts and which is coupled to a drive mechanism. The first closing unit has a coupling mechanism to couple to a second closing unit which acts on one of the first and second roof parts and which interlocks the acted upon roof part to a third roof part or to a body part.

A convertible roof is provided which includes a shelf which can be lowered into a rear stowage space of a convertible. The shelf is movably supported as it is assigned to a rear roof part of the lowerable roof and can be adjusted by an adjustment device between an operating position with the roof closed and a lowered position in which it is moved against the inside of the rear part of the roof which has been lowered into the stowage space, thereby providing space-saving stowage of the roof. The shelf has two opposing outer side areas which can be swiveled relative to a middle part of the shelf.

A cover device for the roof () of a convertible type motor vehicle, which roof can be deposited in the rear area of the vehicle, the cover device being movably supported to clear a through opening for the roof () and having a rear cover part () which is movably supported on the body and a front cover part () which is supported on the rear cover part () and can be moved between a cover position in which it extends forward from the rear cover part (), and a deposited position in which it is located under the rear cover part (). The front cover part () can be moved by a first bearing mechanism () relative to the rear cover part () in the lengthwise direction and can be raised and lowered by a second bearing mechanism () relative to the rear cover part ().

A closing device for doors, hatches, and similar closures of motor vehicles is provided which includes an electric motor as the drive device and a transmission device for transmitting a driving force to a sliding block of the closing device. The transmission device is a compression/tension cable which controls the opening and closing process of the closing device via the linear motion of the sliding block of a lock. The position of the sliding block controls the opening and closing state of the lock relative to a closing lever and a locking lever which are pivotally supported spaced apart from one another.
