A method is provided for operating a hand-guided processing device that has a rotating and/or circulating cutting tool, an electric motor drive system wherein the electric motor drive system is configured for generating a torque for driving the cutting tool, and a user-operable control element. The method automatically monitors whether a blocking criterion is fulfilled, wherein the blocking criterion is characteristic of a blocking of the cutting tool, and if the blocking criterion is fulfilled and the control element operated, automatically lowers the torque generated by the electric motor drive system, and temporally thereafter, automatically increases the torque generated by the electric motor drive system.

A hand-portable garden, forestry and/or construction processing device has a cutting tool, an electric drive motor, a motor operating element, and a control device. The cutting tool is designed for cutting through work. The drive motor is designed for driving the cutting tool. The motor operating element is user-adjustable over an adjustment range from a minimum setting to a maximum setting. The control device is designed for controlling a target speed of the drive motor in accordance with a setting of the motor operating element in at least one first operating mode and one second operating mode. In the first operating mode, the target speed increases over at least one segment from a minimum of 0.5 times the adjustment range as the setting increases, wherein the increase changes over the segment by a maximum of 60%. In the second operating mode, the target speed is a minimum of 0.9 times a maximum target speed of the second operating mode as the setting increases from a maximum of 50% of the adjustment range.

An electric drive motor for a work apparatus includes a stator having two stator poles which are at a distance from one another in the circumferential direction and have respective field windings. The motor has a rotor which rotates between the stator poles and the rotor shaft of the rotor drives a fan wheel. The cooling-air flow generated by the fan wheel enters the stator, flows therethrough and is discharged therefrom. For effective cooling, a pole intermediate space is provided between the stator poles; and, for the cooling-air flow, this space is filled by a non-magnetic guide body to provide a cooling duct delimited by the guide body and the field windings. The guide body is fastened to a support at one stator end and is inserted axially into the stator at the other end thereof.
