A blood circulation system for an extracorporeal blood treatment machine includes: an arterial circulation section; a venous circulation section; a dynamic bubble trap; and an air separator. The blood circulation system conducts blood, during the operation of a blood pump of the extracorporeal blood treatment machine, from a patient to a dialysis unit and from the dialysis unit to the patient. The blood circulation system also includes a recirculation or branch line connected to the bubble trap in order to return part of the blood that flows into the bubble trap into the blood circulation system, upstream of the bubble trap. An extracorporeal blood treatment machine includes the blood circulation system.

A hemocompatible adsorber for separating protein-bound uremic toxins contained in the blood of a patient and having a molecular mass of &#x3c;500 g/mol regarding their carrier proteins, to adsorb the uremic toxins during hemodialysis. The hemocompatible adsorber including a polymer based on a cyclic oligosaccharide or a derivative thereof which is disposed on a solid carrier component. A device for hemodiafiltration including an extracorporeal circuit for receiving blood to be purified and a hemodialyzer connected to the blood circulation of a patient, wherein a hemocompatible adsorber is provided for separating protein-bound uremic toxins contained in the blood of a patient and having a molecular mass of &#x3c;500 g/mol regarding their carrier proteins. The hemocompatible adsorber, which is disposed on a solid carrier component in at least one layer on the blood side within the hemodialyzer, includes a polymer based on a cyclic oligosaccharide or a derivative thereof.

Hemocompatible adsorber for the dialysis of protein-bound uremic toxins

A membrane for the purification of blood, or a dialysis membrane, in hollow-fiber membrane or flat membrane geometry, made of a composite assembled from at least a base membrane based on at least one polysulfone or a polyphenylsulfone with at least one pore-forming hydrophilic additive and at least one functional layer arranged on the base membrane, whereby the functional layer is formed from at least one polymeric polycationic bonding agent and at least one polymeric polyanion, whereby the base membrane is made of a material which is selected from: a polysulfone [PSU], a sulfonated polysulfone [SPSU], a polyethersulfone [PES], a sulfonated polyethersulfone [SPES], a polyphenylsulfone [PPSU], a sulfonated polyphenylsulfone [SPPSU]; and mixtures of these.
