A system and method for modifying symbology displayed on a head worn display (HWD) based on a quality-of-service value is disclosed. The system includes a head worn display configured to display symbology, a tracking camera, a controller, and a tracking processing unit configured to receive inputs form the tracking camera and transmit a signal quality value to the controller. The controller includes processors and memory with instructions that when executed by the processors, cause the processors to display the symbology on the display, determine a quality-of-service value based on at least the signal quality value, and modify at least one symbol of the symbology based on the quality-of-service value from a default symbol to a degraded symbol if the quality-of-service value changes from a high-quality value to a low-quality value. The system may also receive sensor signals from other sensors, and use the sensor signal to determine the quality-of-service value.

Accuracy adaptive symbology for head worn display

A high-assurance headtracking system for a head worn display (HWD) incorporating ground-truth fiducials is disclosed. In embodiments, the headtracking system includes a camera fixed to a mobile platform (e.g., an aircraft cockpit) and oriented toward a pilot wearing the HWD. Images captured by the camera detect fiducial markers attached to the HWD (and fixed in a device reference frame) and static fiducial markers fixed to the mobile platform, each static fiducial marker including a constellation of individual markers having a known position and orientation in the platform reference frame. The headtracking system include control processors for analyzing the images and identifying therein the device-frame and static fiducial markers. The headtracking system determines a device pose of the HWD relative to the platform reference frame and monitors the device pose for drift or error based on the known positions of the identified static fiducial markers.

High assurance head tracking system incorporating ground truth fiducials

A system comprising a head worn display and an image rendering computing device is disclosed. The head worn display comprises one or more image sensors, a head position sensor, and a head position computing device configured to determine a first head pose. The image rendering computing device is configured to render an enhanced image and embed the first head pose in the enhanced image. The head position computing platform is further configured to determine a second head pose, determine a difference between the second head pose and the first head pose, and warp the enhanced image based on the difference between the second head pose and the first head pose to correct for head motion of the user.

Pose augmentation of head worn display video for latency reduction

An aircraft display control system is disclosed. The system comprises one or more displays configured to present a video stream of a surrounding environment to a user of the aircraft, image sensors configured to generate images of the surrounding environment, and a controller configured to execute an enhanced vision system (EVS) module, a synthetic vision system (SVS) module, a combined vision system (CVS) module and a brightness equalization module. The brightness equalization module measures an apparent brightness of a first frame of the video stream and applies a sigmoid transform function to equalize grayscale levels of a second frame of the video stream based on the apparent brightness of the first frame.

Present novel and non-trivial system, device, and method for combining image data received from two or more vision systems are disclosed. A system may be comprised of a first vision source, a second vision source, and an image generator ('IG'). The first vision source may be could configured to generate a first image data set and a depth buffer data set, and the second vision data source could configured to generate a second image data set. The IG could be configured to receive both the first and second image data sets; the depth buffer data set; and generate a third image data set as a function of both image data sets, the depth buffer data set, and a pixel cutoff distance that may be fixed or variable. In addition, the pixel cutoff distance may be determined as a function of input variable data.

Image combining system, device, and method of multiple vision sources

Disclosed is a dart for aiming at a game board comprising a body portion having a tail portion and spaced therefrom a point portion, the point portion being movable on a line with the horizontal longitudinal axis of the body portion and on a line with the vertical axis of the body so that the point can stick to the board and avoid obstructions on the board. Also described is a dart wherein the body of the dart has a cavity containing a movable ballast capable of moving from the tail portion to the point portion for assisting the adherence of the dart to the game board.
