The method further includes provisioning identification data or input of identification data for identification of a patient by the user; establishing of a code linked to the identification data; automatic sending of the code to the server; establishing the status of the processing patient data linked to the code; creating a corresponding status notification by the server; and sending the status notification to the user.

Method and apparatus for data communication in a network

A computer-implemented method and a corresponding apparatus are provided for the provision of a two-dimensional visualization image having a plurality of visualization pixels for the visualization of a three-dimensional object represented by volume data for a user. Context information for the visualization is obtained by the evaluation of natural language and is taken into account in the visualization. The natural language can be in the form of electronic documents, which are assigned or can be assigned to the visualization process. In addition, the natural language can be in the form of a speech input of a user, during or after the visualization.

Method and apparatus for the visualization of three-dimensional objects

For non-invasive EP mapping, a sparse number of electrodes (e.g., 10 in a typical 12-lead ECG exam setting) are used to generate an EP map without requiring preoperative 3D image data (e.g. MR or CT). An imager (e.g., a depth camera) captures the surface of the patient and may be used to localize electrodes in any positioning on the patient. Two-dimensional (2D) x-rays, which are commonly available, and the surface of the patient are used to segment the heart of the patient. The EP map is then generated from the surface, heart segmentation, and measurements from the electrodes.

In a method and processor for evaluating a contrast agent-enhanced two-dimensional magnetic resonance slice image of a heart of a patient in order to determine picture elements revealing contrast agent deposits in the myocardium, an endocardium contour in the magnetic resonance slice image, taking into consideration deposition information describing picture elements potentially revealing contrast agent deposits and determined by image analysis on the basis of a shape assumption for the heart structure that is to be examined, in particular the left ventricle, such that picture elements potentially revealing contrast agent deposits are avoided as much as possible as a contour component. An epicardium contour enclosing the endocardium contour is then determined. Picture elements are marked that indicate contrast agent enhancement in the myocardium lying between the epicardium contour and the endocardium contour as contrast agent deposit.

Method and image processor for evaluating a contrast agent-enhanced magnetic resonance slice image of a heart

A processor acquires image data from a medical imaging system. The processor generates a first model from the image data. The processor generates a computational model which includes cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac mechanics estimated from the first model. The processor performs tests on the computational model to determine outcomes for therapies. The processor overlays the outcome on an interventional image. Using interventional imaging, the first heart model may be updated/overlaid during the therapy to visualize its effect on a patient's heart.

Specifically, a coronary sinus catheter is tracked in a plurality of frames of a fluoroscopic image sequence; and cardiac and respiratory motion of a left atrium is estimated in each of the plurality of frames based on tracking results of the coronary sinus catheter using a trained motion estimation model.

A method for registering image data sets of a target region of a patient includes selecting a first anatomical structure only or at least partially only visible in the first image data set, and a second anatomical structure only or at least partially only visible in the second image data set, such that there is a known geometrical relationship between extended segments of the anatomical structures; automatically determining a first geometry information describing the geometry of at least a part of the first anatomical structure and a second geometry information describing the geometry of at least a part of the second anatomical structure, neither information being sufficient to enable registration of the image data sets on its own; automatically optimizing transformation parameters describing a rigid transformation of one of the anatomical structures with respect to the other and geometrical correspondences; and determining registration information from the optimized transformation parameters.

In a method for visualization of scar tissue in medical imaging data of a heart, medical imaging data representing a heart myocardium and scar tissue within the heart myocardium are obtained and provided to a computer. The computer deviates the thickness of the myocardium into a number of layers and calculates the presence and distribution of scar tissue within each of the layers. The scar tissue is shown in a visualization of the myocardium; and a user is provided with controls to allow the user to select which of the layers of scar tissue is visualised.

A method for model based motion tracking of a catheter during an ablation procedure includes receiving a training series of biplanar fluoroscopic images of a catheter acquired under conditions that will be present during an ablation procedure, segmenting and processing the series of biplanar images to produce a distance transform image for each biplanar image at each acquisition time, minimizing, for each pair of biplanar images at each acquisition time, a cost function of the distance transform image for each pair of biplanar images to yield a translation parameter that provides a best fit for a model of the catheter to each pair of biplanar images at each acquisition time, and calculating an updated catheter model for each acquisition time from said translation parameter.

Constrained registration for motion compensation in atrial fibrillation ablation procedures

A method for compensating cardiac and respiratory motion in atrial fibrillation ablation procedures includes (a) simultaneously determining a position of a circumferential mapping (CFM) catheter and a coronary sinus (CS) catheter in two consecutive image frames of a series of first 2-D image frames; (b) determining a distance between a virtual electrode on the CS catheter and a center of the CFM catheter for a first image frame of the two consecutive image frames, and for a second image frame of the two consecutive image frames; and (c) if an absolute difference of the distance for the first image frame and the distance for the second image frame is greater than a predetermined threshold, compensating for motion of the CFM catheter in a second 2-D image.

A 3D dataset of an anatomical object and a 3D image model of an ablation instrument are provided, wherein the 3D image model models at least the surface of the ablation instrument. A position and an alignment of the 3D image model of the ablation instrument within the anatomical object is specified, wherein the 3D image model of the ablation instrument is incorporated into the 3D dataset of the anatomical object. At least a part of the incorporated 3D image model of the ablation instrument and of the 3D dataset of the anatomical object is presented and at least one characteristic quality value is determined as a function of the location of the 3D image model of the ablation instrument in relation to the anatomical object.
