The present invention relates to a method of activating an organic coating to enhance adhesion of the coating to a further coating and/or to other entities comprising applying a solvent and a surface chemistry and/or surface topography modifying agent to the organic coating. The invention also relates to a coated substrate having an activated coating, wherein the adhesion of the coating to a further coating and/or other entities has been enhanced by application of a solvent and a surface chemistry and/or surface topography modifying agent to the coating. The invention further relates to an activation treatment for an organic coating to enhance adhesion of the coating to a further coating and/or to other entities comprising a solvent and a surface chemistry and/or surface topography modifying agent and a method for the preparation of the activation treatment.

The present disclosure generally relates to diamine compounds, which may be used as precursors in preparing diazaborole compounds and phosphorescent diazaborole metal complexes. The present disclosure also relates to diazaborole compounds, diazaborole metal complexes, and electroluminescent emission materials and electronic devices thereof. The present disclosure further relates to processes for preparing the diamine compounds and diazaborole metal complexes.

The present disclosure generally relates to phenylenediamine compounds, which may be used as precursors in preparing diazaborole compounds and phosphorescent diazaborole metal complexes. A method for modifying a substrate containing a natural polymeric material to improve its interaction with other materials, the method comprising: A) Treating the substrate containing the natural polymeric material with a modifying agent selected from the group consisting of organo-functional coupling agents and multi-functional amine containing organic compounds; and B) optionally exposing the substrate containing natural polymeric material with one or more treatments selected from the group consisting of: i) subjecting the substrate to extraction with a solvent to reduce the content of extractable materials associated with the natural polymeric material prior to or during treatment with the modifying agent; ii) treatment with a physical field selected from static physical fields, high-frequency alternating physical fields and combinations of two or more thereof either prior to, during or after treatment with the modifying agent; and iii) oxidation of at least part of the natural polymeric material prior to or during treatment with the modifying agent.

Treatment of natural polymer based materials and the products based thereon

A substrate containing a natural polymeric material is modified by: A) treating the substrate containing the natural polymeric material with a modifying agent selected from the group consisting of organo-functional coupling agents and multi-functional amine containing organic compounds; and B) optionally exposing the substrate containing natural polymeric material with one or more treatments selected from the consisting of: i) subjecting the substrate to extraction with a solvent to reduce the content of extractable materials associated with the natural polymeric material prior to or during treatment with the modifying agent; ii) treatment with a physical field selected from static physical fields, high-frequency alternating physical fields and combinations of two or more thereof either prior to, during or after treatment with the modifying agent; and iii) oxidation of at least part of the natural polymeric material prior to or during treatment with the modifying agent.

A method of modifying a polymeric surface of a substrate including: (i) providing the polymeric surface with functional groups; and (ii) contacting the surface with (a) a polyamine compound reactive with the surface functional groups, said polyamine comprising at least four amine groups including at least two amine groups selected from primary and secondary amine groups, and (b) crosslinking agent reactive with the polyamine to provide a crosslinked network grafted to the substrate surface.
