A belt load characterization system receives a belt slip detector signal indicative of belt slip, and identifies, in near real-time, a severity level and impact of the belt load characteristics. A notification system generates an operator interface mechanism control signal to surface a notification to the operator indicative of the belt load characteristics, and the severity level and impact of those characteristics. The machine can be controlled based on the belt load as well.

Real-time belt failure detection

Embodiments of a kernel-level grain monitoring system include a grain camera positioned to capture bulk grain sample images of a currently-harvested grain taken into and processed by a combine harvester, a moisture sensor, and a display device. A controller architecture is coupled to the grain camera, to the moisture sensor, and to the display device. The controller architecture is configured to: (i) analyze the bulk grain sample images, as received from the grain camera, to determine an average per kernel (APK) volume representing an estimated volume of a single average kernel of the currently-harvested grain; (ii) repeatedly calculate one or more topline harvesting parameters based, at least in part, on the determined APK volume and the moisture sensor data; and (iii) selectively present the topline harvesting parameters on the display device for viewing by an operator of the combine harvester.

Kernel-level grain monitoring systems for combine harvesters

One or more maps are obtained by an agricultural work machine. The one or more maps map one or more agricultural characteristic values at different geographic locations of a field. An in-situ sensor on the agricultural work machine senses an agricultural characteristic as the agricultural work machine moves through the field. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that predicts a predictive agricultural characteristic at different locations in the field based on a relationship between the values in the one or more maps and the agricultural characteristic sensed by the in-situ sensor. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.

Crop constituent map generation and control system

A dynamic event detection system detects dynamic events, based on a sensor signal, on a mobile harvester. A dynamic event correction system identifies a correction magnitude, corresponding to the detected dynamic event, and a correction timing. The dynamic event correction system applies a correction, using the correction magnitude and correction timing, to a performance metric value generated from a performance metric sensor.

Near real-time signal correction on a harvesting machine

A row unit assembly for use with a corn harvester includes a first drive having an output shaft, a stalk roll that extends along a first axis and rotates about the first axis via the output shaft of the first drive. A second drive rotates a first drive member about a second axis that is substantially perpendicular to the first axis. A first conveyor extends around the first drive member and moves about the first drive member in response to rotation of the first drive member. A third drive rotates a second drive member about a third axis that is substantially parallel to the second axis. A second conveyor extends around the second drive member and moves about the second drive member in response to rotation of the second drive member.

Corn stalk roll drive system

A sensing system and method is provided for crop material in a harvester. The sensing system includes a conveyor auger device oriented in a substantially vertical direction and having an entrance aperture, an exit aperture located upwardly above a radially oriented sensing aperture disposed therebetween. The conveyor auger device includes a conveyor auger having a flight for moving crop material upwardly, wherein the flight has a reduced radial extension adjacent the sensing aperture. A sensor disposed at or adjacent the sensing aperture senses the essentially continuously upwardly moving crop material for determining a property thereof.

A draper belt assembly may include a roller and a web. The roller may include a first groove having a first interior side surface facing in a first direction and a second groove having a second interior side surface facing in the first direction. The draper belt may include a web, and first and second elastomeric belt guides received within the first groove and the second groove, respectively. The first belt guide may have a first exterior side surface facing in a second direction opposite the first direction and axially spaced from the first interior side surface by first distance. The second belt guide may have a second exterior side surface facing in the second direction, axially spaced from the second interior side surface by second distance greater than the first distance in absence of axial loads to the draper belt.
