A connector assembly includes a first connector and a second connector. The first connector includes a first locking mechanism. The second connector includes a housing and a seal shroud. The housing includes a seal positioned along an exterior surface of the housing. The seal shroud surrounds the housing and includes a second locking mechanism configured to mate with the first locking mechanism. The seal shroud is movable between a first position and a second position while the first locking mechanism is mated with the second locking mechanism. The seal shroud at least partially covers the seal of the housing in the first position and the seal shroud exposes the seal to an interior facing surface of the first connector in the second position.

Retractable seal shroud

A connector comprises a connector housing that includes a plurality of channels formed therein through which a corresponding plurality of fasteners may pass. At least a portion of the housing has a first side and a second side. The first side is an elongated body-receiving side and the second side is a mating side. The elongated body may, for example, be a wire, a cable, a hose, or other structure. Each of the channels has an opening. The connector further comprises protrusions extending away from each of the openings. In an unassembled state, the protrusions extend further away from a surface of the housing than a remainder of the mating surface of the connector.

Vibration limiting compression protrusions

A connector kit includes a housing, a wire-mounted component, and a seal. In various embodiments, the seal is configured to be coupled to the housing and the wire-mounted component. The seal includes a single unitary body, and the seal is structured to provide a seal for the wire-mounted component and a wire to protect an interior of the connector from penetration by foreign substances.

Device and method for protecting a connector assembly

A terminal-thermistor assembly may include a thermistor and a terminal. The thermistor may include a body encasing a temperature-sensing element. The terminal may include a shaft and a housing disposed on an end of the shaft. The housing may include a cavity, a protrusion extending into the cavity and a cantilevered spring element. The spring element may be resiliently flexible between a first position in which a space between the spring element and the protrusion is less than a thickness of the body of the thermistor and a second position in which the space between the spring element and the protrusion is equal to the thickness of the body. A first surface of the thermistor body may contact the spring element and a second surface of the thermistor body opposite the first surface may contact the protrusion when the body is received within the cavity.

Terminal-thermistor assembly

A connector assembly that includes a first connector, a lever, a second connector and a link. The lever is pivotally mounted to the first connector for movement about a pivot axis between a first lever position and a second lever position. The second connector has a lug. The link is pivotally coupled to the lever at a location that is spaced apart from the pivot axis. The link has a coupling member with a slotted interior aperture and an engagement tab. The lug is received into the slotted interior aperture when the lever is in the first lever position. The engagement tab engages the lug to inhibit relative movement of the second connector away from the coupling member when the lever is moved from the first lever position to the second lever position.

Lever-action connector assembly

A power distribution box has a holder with inner, deflectable lock arms for securing bus bars within the holder. When the bus bars are correctly and completely installed within the holder, engaging portions of the lock arms are received in apertures of the bus bars and the lock arms are in a locked position. A cover can fit over and properly seat on the holder. The cover has projections that slide behind the lock arms and retain the lock arms in the locked position, preventing further movement. The projections each include a blocking surface. If one or more of the bus bars are not correctly and completely installed in the holder, the related latch arms are in a deflected, unlocked position. The blocking surface of a corresponding projection abuts against the deflected lock arm and prevents proper and complete assembly of the cover onto the holder.

Bus bar position assurance device

A connector assembly has a first part with an interior for receiving right-angle electrical terminals through an insertion end. Wire-connect segments of the terminals seat within cradle-like members aligned in sets of rows extending across the width of the interior. Electrical mating segments of the terminals extend perpendicularly from the wire-connect segments. A second part of the connector assembly has chambers for receiving the mating segments of the terminal and a compartment with inner cradle-like members aligned in sets of rows across the compartment. The cradle-like members of the first and second parts are arranged to correspond in position to each other when the second part is assembled on the first part so the wire-connect segments are clamped within the cradle-like members, reducing vibrational and other motion of the terminals within the assembly.

Connector with terminal motion reduction

A sealing system for a connector assembly used to house one-piece right-angle electrical terminals. The assembly has a first part for receiving the terminals and allowing the terminals to be turned such that wire-connect portions of the terminal are seated in the first part and electrical mating portions of the terminals perpendicular to the wire-connect portions extend through a second part. The second part has an insertion section for receipt in an opening and recess of the first part and a chamber section for accommodating the mating portions of the terminals. A gap is formed by the relative sizes and shapes of the parts around the insertion section at an engagement area between the first and second parts. Latch features within the first part and on the insertion section secure the two parts together internally from the gap. A resilient gasket fits into the gap and seals the engagement area.

Sealing gap formed by assembled connector parts

An electrical terminal is sealed for use in high voltage vehicle systems. The terminal has a cylindrical section positioned between a contact section for mating with another electrical contact or terminal and a crimp section for mechanically and electrically securing the terminal to an electrical wire. The cylindrical section is integral with both the contact section and the crimp section, and includes an outer surface with a circumferential groove. The groove receives and retains an o-ring seal for preventing contaminant seepage between the contact section and the crimp section when the contact section is inserted into a connector for mating with the other contact or terminal. The contact section may be either a substantially flat eyelet contact, a male contact or female contact.

Sealed electrical terminal

An automotive battery cable grounding terminal having an integral attachment appendage adapted to serve as an attachment or anchor point for a plastic cover, a secondary cable or a combination of the two.
