An electric cooking grill includes a firebox having a first and second heating elements, first and second cooking surfaces positioned over the first and second heating elements respectively, a household power connection, and a power dividing circuit that apportions power from the household power connection to one or both of the first and second heating elements. At least of the first and second heating elements receives up to 100% of the power from the household power connection.

An apparatus for cooking comprising a cooking cavity for receiving a food item and a burner positioned within a bottom portion of the cooking cavity for delivering a combustion gas in the cooking cavity which will flow upwardly to heat the vertically-extending interior surface of the cooking cavity. The upward flow of combustion gas within the heating cavity is operable for heating the vertically extending interior surface in a manner such that the food item positioned in the cooking cavity will be cooked at least predominantly by infrared radiation.

Burner assembly for gas grills

A preferred embodiment incorporates a grill casting support assembly which includes a tank support strut mounted thereto. The tank support strut is configured to mount an LP gas tank thereon and preferably is configured with a first end and a second end and first and second support surfaces spaced therebetween. Each of the first and second support surfaces are adapted to engage a portion of the LP gas tank, with the tank support strut being engagable with the LP gas tank in a receiving position and a mounted position. In the receiving position, the LP gas tank can be arranged in a substantially horizontal orientation so that it contacts the first and second support surfaces, and, in the mounted position, the LP gas tank is arranged in a substantially upright orientation so that it contacts the first and second support surfaces. Preferably, a grill casting is mounted to the grill casting support assembly.

A preferred embodiment of the gas grill with tilting tank support incorporates a tank support strut rotatably mounted to a support structure of the grill. Preferably, the tank support strut has a first longitudinal axis and is capable of rotation thereabout between a receiving position and a mounted position. In the mounted position, the tank support strut is adapted to engage the base of an LP gas tank so that the LP gas tank is arranged in a substantially upright orientation.
