In an improvement of the apparatus and method disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 7,354,029 B1, a Process Fluid Treating Apparatus includes an ejector assembly fluidically connected to a process fluid supply assembly. A Coanda airfoil is located in the ejector assembly. Primary fluid is injected into the ejector duct and forms a Coanda layer, flowing adjacent to the walls of a Coanda Airfoil. A process fluid, or part of it, flows toward the ejector assembly through the Process Fluid Supply Assembly, which forces the process fluid to flow through a plurality of fluid ports to separate that process fluid into a plurality of separate streams and turns those separate streams of process fluid through its perforated tip towards the Coanda layer whereby the contact between the process fluid and the Coanda layer is controlled. Shear and other forces and pressure gradients associated with the Coanda layer serve to transport the process fluid from the source and to operate on the process fluid to atomize the process fluid and/or to de-agglomerize solid particles entrained in the process fluid. Alternatively, a mechanical pump could be used for process fluid delivery to the Coanda layer.

Apparatus and method for treating process fluid

A process fluid treating apparatus includes an ejector assembly fluidically connected to a process fluid supply assembly. A Coanda airfoil is located in the ejector assembly. Primary fluid is injected into the ejector duct to form a Coanda layer. A process fluid, or part of it, flows toward the ejector assembly through the process fluid assembly, which gradually turns that process fluid towards fluid treating channel formed adjacent to the Coanda layer. Shear and other forces and pressure gradients associated with the Coanda layer serve to pump or assist in pumping the process fluid from the source and to operate on the process fluid to atomize it, to pulverize, or de-agglomerize solid particles entrained in the process fluid, to produce high mass flow rate of the process fluid and to provide aerosol down to micron and sub micron mean droplet diameter size.

Apparatus and method for treating process fluids

The detector for monitoring decrease in air flow rate due to air filter clogging. It is based on combination of three essential components: the air flow sensor, a threshold detector and an indicator. The air flow sensor is built in form of a novel thermo-anemometer which contains a thermistor, a heating element, and a thermal insulator. Temperature of the sensor is maintained above the air temperature by a constant value by means of an electronic servo circuit. The threshold detector is implemented either in a hardware or software. A novel design of a thermo-anemometer (closely related to a hot wire anemometer) automatically compensates for variations in the air temperatures. The thermo-anemometer triggers the threshold circuit when air flow rate drops below a preset level. For reduction of power consumption, the detector may employ two additional sensors: one is for detection of the blower operation and the other is a presence detector to enable the alarm in presence of people to perceive the alarm. The device automatically calibrates itself upon installation of a new or cleaned air filter. The applications include residential and commercial air conditioners, air heaters, internal combustion engines, vacuum cleaners and other systems where air filters are employed.
