A method for producing a constructed camshaft of an internal combustion engine may be used in connection with a camshaft having a cam, a shaft, and an anti-friction bearing. The method may involve machining the cam, machining the shaft to produce a setting region for arranging the cam, heating the cam and the anti-friction bearing, pushing the cam onto the shaft into a preliminary position and pushing the anti-friction bearing onto the shaft into a bearing position, equalizing a temperature between the shaft, the cam, and the anti-friction bearing by cooling at least the cam, and setting the cam onto an end position by way of pushing the cam onto the setting region.

Method for producing a constructed camshaft of an internal combustion engine

The present disclosure relates to a lightweight camshaft and method for producing the same. The method includes the steps of slidably arranging a plurality of support elements onto a support tube, winding the support tube and support elements with at least one fiber layer, impregnating the at least one fiber layer with a matrix material so as to form a fiber composite, curing the fiber composite, and slidably arranging each of a plurality of functional elements, including at least a plurality of cam elements, onto a corresponding support element, such that the support elements are fixedly seated at least partially inside a passage defined through the functional elements.

Lightweight camshaft and method for producing the same

A divided toothed wheel having two toothed wheel halves which are tensioned in relation to each other. The first toothed wheel half includes a hollow cylindrical collar with a groove, to which the second toothed wheel half is secured in a form-fitting engagement by a securing element inserted into the groove. The divided tooth wheel takes up a minimum amount of space from the axial direction and has two halves which are permanently connected together. The second toothed wheel half has a radially extending recess and the securing element is designed as an elastically shapeable ring which is arranged in a receiving chamber defined by the groove and the recess and the two toothed wheel halves are permanently joined together.

A camshaft arrangement for a motor vehicle engine has a hollow outer shaft and an inner shaft supporting inner shaft cams. The inner shaft cams are non-rotatably attached to the inner shaft by at least one connection element that protrudes with clearance through an aperture in the outer shaft and is attached to the respective inner shaft cam which is rotatably mounted on the outer shaft. When inserted into a receiver in the inner shaft, a portion of the connection element protrudes out of the receiver, and the protruding portion is at least partially inserted into an aperture located at the joint diameter of the inner shaft cam. This aperture is open at least towards an end face of the inner shaft cam. The protruding portion has at least two opposite-lying side surfaces lying with an interference fit against corresponding inner surfaces of the aperture of the inner shaft cam.
