Embodiments of the present invention provide a method comprising determining, by a processor, at least an indication of a size of a de-interleaved symbol from a frame within a frame buffer, estimating, by the processor, a target transport channel buffer in a channel buffer for the de-interleaved symbol, and writing, by the processor, the de-interleaved symbol in the channel buffer based on the estimated target transport channel buffer.

Method and apparatus of de-multiplexing data

In some embodiments of the present invention, a method and apparatus to generate interrupts in a transfer of information between a rake receiver and a processor, said interrupts having a rate of generation per unit time independent of a rate of the transfer of information per unit time.

Rake receiver interface

A method and apparatus to de-multiplex a de-interleaved frame is provided. The method of de-multiplexing may add a de-interleaved address of a symbol of the de-interleaved frame to a base address of the de-interleaved frame to provide a target address. The symbol may be written in a channel buffer according to the target address.

A spread-spectrum receiver has a high-rate path to receive multi-rate channels and a low-rate path to receive fixed-rate channels. In a wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) embodiment, the high-rate path despreads multi-rate physical channels having a variable spreading factor and the low-rate path despreads physical channels having a fixed spreading factor. The high-rate path may have high-rate rake fingers to despread multipath components of the multi-rate channels. Each multi-rate channel may have a different spreading code allowing for multicode reception. The high-rate path may also include a high-rate rake with finger engines implemented in hardware to multiply symbols with a channel estimation, and a combiner to combine the multipath components. The low-rate path may include low-rate fingers to despread multipath components of the fixed-rate channels and a processor to generate a channel estimation and coherently combine symbols from the low-rate fingers with the channel estimation.
