Disclosed is an occlusion device for use in a body lumen such as the left atrial appendage. The occlusion device includes a pumpable injectable material and a retention member having a tissue penetrating shaft which extends from a proximal end of the device to a distal end of the device.

An implantable device for containing emboli within an atrial appendage may include an expandable frame having a plurality of supports projecting distally from a proximal hub, a mesh barrier provided on proximal sections of the supports, and a plurality of tissue anchors provided on the supports for engaging tissue when the device is positioned in an atrial appendage.

Disclosed is an occlusion device for use in a body lumen such as the left atrial appendage. The occlusion device includes an occlusion member and may also include a stabilizing member. The stabilizing member inhibits compression of the left atrial appendage, facilitating tissue in-growth onto the occlusion member. Methods are also disclosed.

Method and device for left atrial appendage occlusion

Disclosed is an access catheter for identifying and providing access through a tissue structure such as the fossa ovalis on the intraatrial septum. The access catheter comprises an elongate flexible tubular body having a proximal and a distal end, and a retractable piercing structure such as a needle carried by the distal end. A detector such as a red, green, and blue light detector is associated with the access catheter, such that placement of the distal end of the catheter against the fossa ovalis can be detected. The piercing structure is thereafter advanceable to provide access to the left atrium through the fossa ovalis.
