An electronic computer game and method includes a matrix of 25 LED's (light emitting diodes) and two sets of push button switches positioned on opposite sides of the matrix. Each set of push buttons comprises a group of five push buttons corresponding to the five rows of the matrix and a group of five push buttons corresponding to the five columns of the matrix. Each set of push buttons is arranged so that the ten fingers of a player may be placed on the push buttons and any one of the LED's in the matrix may be rapidly selected by either player by simultaneous actuation of one push button in each of his groups. A game selector switch may be moved to select one of a number of games of action, reaction or strategy each of which is controlled by a microprocessor which stores selection of LED's by each player, sets up random patterns on the matrix which are randomly altered, keeps track of each player's score and provides audible and visual signals informing the players of the progress of the game, etc.

Electronic matrix board game apparatus and method

An amusement device useful in spelling education includes a base structure having an upper playing board with a plurality of openings arranged in a matrix of rows and columns. A removable plug is provided for each of the openings and each plug is shaped to seat within an opening and includes a handle to facilitate manual withdrawal and replacement of the plug. A disk is mounted for rotation under the playing board with an upper surface viewable through the matrix of openings when the plugs are withdrawn. The upper surface of the disk is provided with a plurality of matrices rows and columns of alphabetic characters, and each matrix is positioned to align the characters below the openings in the playing board for viewing when the disk is indexed into any of several rotative indexing positions.

Amusement device

A game apparatus includes a game board containing an array of playing spaces separated from one another by grooves which run in rank and file order. The game apparatus includes at least two separate sets of playing pieces, which during the game are placed on the spaces and the grooves act as locators or receivers for insertion of projections on the playing pieces. The players may place the playing pieces upon any playing space which is playable and not blocked by a playing piece from another set according to the rules of the game. In an alternate embodiment a second set of projections physically present incorrect placement.

A board game type game apparatus is provided by a game board having a plurality of defined stations and a plurality of playing pieces which interact with the playing stations to indicate in which direction and for how many stations a playing piece may be moved on subsequent moves. Each playing piece includes a plurality of apertures in its upper surface and a movable substrate mounted below the apertures having a predetermined pattern of light and dark areas. The pattern in combination with the apertures determines the direction of moves and the number of stations which that playing piece may be moved. The game board includes a mechanism for moving the substrate relative to the apertures so that, after each move, new information may be provided to indicate a different direction of travel and number of stations to be traversed on a subsequent move. Opposing playing pieces are captured by a proper move which terminates on a station occupied by an opponent's playing piece, which is then removed from play.

Interacting game board and playing piece

A toy seat comprises a base with a seat mounted for movement between different levels above the base and a fluid chamber in the form of a bellows supports the seat on the base to move up and down. A hand pump is provided for supplying pressurized fluid to expand the fluid chamber to raise the seat to a level wherein suddenly the pressurized fluid in the chamber may be released to the atmosphere and the seat then settles downwardly until the pressurized fluid is again supplied to the chamber by manual operation of the pump. The toy seat also includes a whistle which is associated with an exhaust or release valve so that a whistling sound is produced whenever pressurized fluid from the seat supporting chamber is released.

Pneumatic exercising device

A construction toy including a base portion having a grid defined thereon by a plurality of substantially vertical grooves for use in combination with accessory articles. The grooves defined on the grid are arranged to intersect one another at right angles, each pair of which defines a track section over which a suitable vehicle may travel. A plurality of building wall panels are provided for use by positioning in the grooves of the grid to maintain the panels in a generally vertical position to permit combining of the panels to define structures such as houses, trees, or other structures. A plurality of track sections may be connected to the base to provide a path of travel to and away from the base. A connecting device is provided on the end of each track section for connection between adjacent track sections or to the base to secure the assembly as a unitary layout. Each track section is reversible and includes on one side a generally flat surface for traversing by vehicles such as cars and trucks. A pair of tracks are provided on the other side of the track sections for use with vehicles having flanged wheels. Spaced tabs are provided along the tracks to strike the wheel flanges and produce a clicking sound as the vehicle rolls along the track.

A novel game apparatus developed as a variation of a tic-tac-toe theme employs a base having multiple sets of three-dimensional, diamond shaped matrices and two different types of playing pieces. Each playing piece has a pair of different symbols such as an 'X' and 'O' on an upper surface and the pieces are played by placement over pairs of playing spaces on the matrices. Each matrix may be color coded to distinguish from adjacent matrices. One type of playing piece is diamond shaped and is adapted for placement only within the boundaries of a single matrix. The other type of playing piece is angle shaped and is adapted for placement only across a boundary line between adjacent matrices. The 'X' and 'O' symbol of the playing piece is adapted to cover a pair of play spaces on the base. The player to complete the greatest number of rows of three of the same symbols wins the game.

A trackway for toy vehicles which includes a plurality of elongated track sections placeable end-to-end and having upper surfaces defining a roadbed for the toy vehicles along the top of the trackway. The track sections have complementary engageable latch-release components on the ends thereof for connecting the track sections end-to-end and holding the track sections against separation, automatically in response to longitudinal pushing type abutment of the track sections against each other. In the disclosed embodiment, the latch-release mechanism includes a flexible portion formed integrally with each track section.

Toy vehicle track

An audio-visual phonograph device including a visual image projection system is provided which includes a case for the phonograph device having a lid that serves as a screen for the projection of images formed on a flat disc. The phonograph device further includes a variable speed turntable and a pick-up tone arm employed to reproduce the audio message on the records. The turntable is synchronized with a carrier onto which the visual image disc is removably mounted. The carrier rotates in synchronism with the turntable advancing a continuous image that is projected onto the screen in a timed relation with the correlated audio message.
