In an example, a print apparatus comprises an intermediate transfer member to receive thermoplastic print agent from a photoconductive surface, a rotatably mounted endless cleaning surface to receive a layer of thermoplastic print agent from the intermediate transfer member and a heater, to heat the endless cleaning surface. The endless cleaning surface may be to engage with the intermediate transfer member when heated to transfer residue from the intermediate transfer member to the layer of thermoplastic print agent on the endless cleaning surface.

Cleaning surfaces for print apparatus

In an example of the disclosure, a blanket servicing system includes a rotatably mounted endless cleaning surface and a scraper. The endless cleaning surface is to have a first engagement with a blanket to obtain a layer of thermoplastic print agent from the blanket. The endless cleaning surface is to have a second engagement with the blanket to receive residue from the blanket onto the layer of thermoplastic print agent. The scraper is to scrape the endless cleaning surface to transfer the residue from the endless cleaning surface to a collection element.

Service system utilizing an endless cleaning surface

There is disclosed apparatus for wetting a roller of a printing system comprising an applicator unit comprising a liquid agent chamber. Upper and lower walls extend from the liquid agent chamber to define a slit therebetween. The upper wall extends beyond a lip of the lower wall to a transfer lip. A flow restrictor is received in the slit to prevent flow of liquid agent to a respective portion of the transfer lip, thereby defining a restricted portion of the slit and an adjacent unrestricted portion of the slit. The flow restrictor fits in the restricted portion with a clearance that permits liquid agent flow at a reduced velocity relative flow through the unrestricted portion, such that liquid agent along the restricted portion is discharged from the lower wall. A method of installing a flow restrictor is also disclosed.

Wetting apparatus

An apparatus () for applying a liquid to a printing surface (). The apparatus comprise: a housing () arranged to receive the liquid, the housing comprising an aperture and the aperture comprising at least a first side defined by the housing and a second side defined by the housing which is opposite to the first side, such that the liquid can flow out of the housing by passing through the aperture between the first side and the second side; and a liquid guide member () which is inserted into the aperture so that the liquid guide member extends from the first side to the second side. The liquid guide member comprises: a first transfer surface; a second transfer surface which is separated from the first transfer surface by a gap; a first channel which extends from a first inlet which is adjacent to the aperture to a first outlet which is adjacent to the first transfer surface; and a second channel which extends from a first inlet which is adjacent to the aperture to a first outlet which is adjacent to the second transfer surface, the liquid guide member being arranged such that in use the liquid will flow along the first channel from the aperture to the first transfer surface and then transfer from the first transfer surface onto the printing surface, and the liquid will flow along the second channel from the aperture to the second transfer surface and then transfer from the second transfer surface onto the printing surface as the printing surface moves relative to the apparatus.

Apparatus and method for applying a liquid to a printing surface

In one example, an apparatus for selectively removing primer in a printing system is described, having a chamber for supply of a pressurised fluid, a plurality of valves fluidically coupled to the chamber and individually pivotable about a common elongate member that extends along a length of the apparatus, and a set of actuators to pivot the plurality of valves about the elongate member to selectively supply pressurised fluid from the chamber along the length of the apparatus.

In an example, a method includes collecting () print agent from a print agent reservoir to form a print agent layer on a first print agent transfer member (). The print agent layer may be transferred () directly from the first print agent transfer member to a second print agent transfer member (), where the print agent layer may be heated (). The print agent layer may be applied () directly from the second print agent transfer member to a substrate.

According to some examples a substance displacement apparatus may comprise a gas ejection aperture and a deflector arm. The gas ejection aperture may be to direct gas towards a roller having a surface on which a substance is disposed. The deflector arm may be moveable between a first position in which gas is directed away from a target area on the surface of the roller, and a second position in which gas is directed towards the target area on the surface of the roller, thereby to displace at least some of the substance from the surface of the roller within the target area. A method and a print apparatus are also disclosed.

Displacing a substance

The present disclosure relates to cleaning a surface in a printing device, wherein a guiding member directs a stream of cleaning fluid towards the surface; and at least one barrier unit to confine the stream of cleaning fluid to a portion of the surface, wherein the at least one barrier unit guides air to provide at least one air curtain confining said stream of cleaning fluid to the portion of the surface.

Cleaning of a surface in a printing device

The present disclosure relates to cleaning a surface in a printing device, wherein a steam guiding member directs a steam flow towards the surface; wherein the steam flow interacts with a substance on said surface to clean a portion of the surface.

Barrier members for use in an electrographic printer are described. The barrier member has a first layer including thermally insulating particles embedded in a polymer composition, and a second layer including a thermally conductive metallic layer.

Certain examples of an apparatus, a printing system and a method are described that may be used for applying a fluid. In certain cases, an apparatus has a chamber arranged to receive fluid, the chamber being sealed at one or more ends by one or more respective end seals. In one case, at least one end seal is moveable along an axis of the chamber to adjust at least a volume of the chamber.

Fluid application

Certain examples of apparatus for applying fluid in a printing system are described. The apparatus comprise a first chamber having a first aperture extending along a first axis, and a second chamber having a second aperture extending along a second axis, wherein the first axis is substantially parallel to the second axis. The second chamber is movable with respect to the first chamber. Also, methods for supplying a fluid, and printing systems are described.

Certain examples of seals that can move along a slit are disclosed. The seals can comprise a first leaf, a second leaf, and a biasing member to push the first leaf away from the second leaf. Also, apparatus for applying a fluid, and printing systems are described.
