An interfolding machine produces interfolded sheets according to an interfolding configuration and, starting from a web of paper provides a feeding section, which applies a tension on the web and moves the same along a feeding direction feeding the same to a cutting section, in which the web of paper is cut into a series of sheets at a cutting point between a cutting roller and a counter-cutting element. Downstream of the cutting section, a folding section includes a first and a second folding rollers counter-rotating with respect to each other. The first and second folding rollers rotate about respective rotation axes with a first peripheral velocity vP, and fold, at a folding zone, a plurality of sheets in a plurality of panels and form the stack of interfolded sheets. The cutting roller alternately distributes the aforementioned sheets between a transfer roller and the first folding roller.

Interfolding machine

A folding, or interfolding, unit, for folding, or interfolding, a first and a second plurality of sheets of paper in a machine for converting paper, comprises a first and a second folding, or interfolding, counter-rotating rolls configured to rotate about a respective longitudinal rotational axis and providing a plurality of suction holes. A vacuum generation device and a vacuum distribution device are, furthermore, provided for selectively putting into pneumatic communication the vacuum generation device with at least a row of the aforementioned suction holes. The folding, or interfolding, unit, comprises, furthermore, a first and a second cutting device providing, respectively, at least a first and a second cutting blade which cooperates with a first and a second plurality of counter-blades distributed along the folding, or interfolding rolls in order to cut a first and a second web of paper, in the first and in the second plurality of sheets.

The folding roller includes a rotation axis and at least a gripping member extending longitudinally along the folding roller, controlled by at least a piezoelectric actuator. The piezoelectric actuator causes a pivoting movement of the gripping member about its pivoting axis parallel to the rotation axis of the folding roller.

A converting line for processing tissue paper includes an unwinder for unwinding reels of tissue paper; a rewinding machine for forming rolls of tissue paper; a feeding path between the unwinder and the rewinding machine, for at least one ply of tissue paper; along the feeding path, a first detection unit to detect the thickness of the tissue paper fed along the feeding path in a feeding direction; a control system, interfacing with the detection unit, and configured to act on at least one production parameter of the converting line based on the detected tissue paper thickness.

The unwinding device comprises: a rotating element () with supports () for at least two reels (B; B; B); a splicing member () to join a first web material (N) coming from an expiring reel (B) to the initial free end (T) of a second web material (N) wound on a new reel (B). At least one mechanical member () is associated with each support (), to retain the initial free end (T) of the reel disposed on the support, to hold the initial free end until splicing of the two web materials.

The folding machine comprises a pair of folding rollers () rotating about axes essentially parallel to each other and defining a nip () through which a web material (N) to be folded passes. Disposed on each of the folding rollers are folding members (A;A) which form folds on the web material parallel to the axis of rotation of the folding rollers. For each folding roller () a transferring device () is also provided to transfer packs of products folded by the folding rollers towards an unloading area (), which comprises a plurality of separating fingers () movable along a closed path, from an area of engagement with the folded products to an unloading area of the folded products. Each of the transferring devices extends inside an annular groove (G,G) of the respective folding roller ().

The device comprises a guide () defining a closed for a plurality of separator fingers (). In the vicinity of the end of the advance stretch of the guide is set a separating member () provided with a movement of insertion and extraction (f) with respect to the pile of products (P, P, P), synchronized with the movement of advance of the products along the path of advance, so as to insert itself between two contiguous packs of laminar products (M, M), between which is inserted a respective separator finger (), and to withhold temporarily the pile of laminar products whilst said separator finger () is moved away from the path of advance.
