A method for managing an Evolved Packet System is provided. The Evolved Packet System comprises a core network including a database configured to store User Identifying Information of user devices attached to the Evolved Packet System, and at least one external server. The method comprises having a user device attached to the Evolved Packet System request IP services to the external server; in response to said requesting IP services, having the external server request the User Identifying Information of said user device to the core network; in response to said requesting the User Identifying Information, having the core network access the database and retrieve the User Identifying Information of said user device; having the core network send the retrieved User Identifying Information to the external server; having the external server provide the requested IP services to the user device by exploiting said retrieved User Identifying Information.

Method and system for retrieving user information in evolved packet system

In a method for managing access by a user device to multimedia services delivered by a communication system, the user device accesses the multimedia services through a Radio Access Technology (RAT). An information element sent to the user device from the communication system includes restriction information that indicates the types of RAT that the user device may use to access the multimedia services. The restriction information also includes the types of RAT that the user device cannot use to access the multimedia services. The information element also includes additional restriction information indicating the multimedia services that can be accessed by the user device, and the multimedia services that cannot be accessed by the user device. The additional restriction information is based on subscription information for the user device.

A method for providing IP services to a user of a public network is disclosed. The user accesses the public network using a user equipment which supports a first set of IP services. The network provides a second set of IP services. A third set of IP services, included in a first set and second set of IP services, is identified and the user is allowed to access a plurality of IP services of a third set. In an internet protocol multimedia subsystem architecture including multiple home subscriber servers, an apparatus (home subscriber server proxy) is interposed between a call session controlling function and/or an application server and the multiple home subscriber servers for adapting signaling messages exchanged between the call session controlling function (and/or the application server) and the home subscriber servers, so as to overcome interoperability issues. Such apparatus can be exploited for correctly routing the signaling messages toward the home subscriber server, thus rendering unnecessary the presence of a service locator function in a multi home subscriber server internet protocol multimedia subscription architecture.
