A separation free bioanalytical assay method for measuring an analyte from a biological fluid or suspension containing microparticles as a bioaffinity binding solid phase, a biospecific secondary reagent labelled with a two-photon fluorescent dipyrrometheneboron difluoride dye of specified structure, focusing the laser into the reaction suspension, and measuring two-photon excited fluorescence from single microparticles when they randomly float or are guided by the radiation pressure of the excitation laser through the focal volume of the laser beam.

Two-photon absorbing dipyrrometheneboron difluoride dyes and their applications

A fluorescent label compound of formula where Z is a reactive group that can be used for covalent coupling of the fluorescent label compound to other molecule. Either the fluorophore is a dipyrrometheneboron difluoride dye and Y is a water-solubilizing moiety, or Y is &#x2014;CHCHSOXwhere Xis a cation. The use of the compounds in bianalytical assays and cytological or histological staining methods, and a method for increasing the hydrophilicity of fluorescent compounds, are also disclosed.

Method for increasing hydrophilicity of fluorescent label compounds

The preparation of phosphorescent metalloporphyrin labelling reagents and their use for preparation of phosphorescent conjugates with biomolecules. The labelling reagents obtainable are water soluble monofunctional derivatives of Pt- and Pd-coproporphyrins, where the term &ldquo;monofunctional&rdquo; refers to the number of reactive groups in the porphyrin moiety.
