Systems and methods are described herein for inserting contextual advertisements into a virtual environment. While presenting a virtual environment, a media device receives speech input. The media device selects an advertisement from an advertisement database based on the speech. The media device then determines the current environment of the virtual environment and generates a virtual object that is related to the current environment. The media device overlays the selected advertisement over the generated virtual object and displays the generated virtual object in the virtual environment.

Systems and methods for inserting contextual advertisements into a virtual environment

The system determines whether content such as an image is suitable for content modification based on one or more criteria. The system includes decision engines or modules configured to evaluate one or more suitability metrics based on corresponding criteria such as publication status, restriction status, context, compatibility, and classification. If content is unsuitable for content modification because of entities or context depicted therein, privacy status, incompatibility with content modification, properties of the content file itself, or other aspects, the system generates a tag indicating the content is unsuitable for content modification. If content is suitable for content modification because of entities or context depicted therein, publication status, compatibility with content modification, properties of the content file itself, or other aspects, the system generates a content modification tag indicating the content is suitable for content modification. Metadata associated with the content is updated based on the flag.

Systems and methods for determining whether to modify content

In some embodiments, control circuitry may detect a voice communication from a human using voice detection circuitry during playback of a media asset being consumed by the user. Control circuitry may then identify an accent characteristic of the voice communication. Control circuitry may cross-reference the accent characteristic against listings of an accent database and then determine, based on the cross-referencing of the accent characteristic a country of origin of the human. Control circuitry may detect, using imaging circuitry, a gesture made by the human. Control circuitry may then cross-reference the gesture against listings of a gesture database associated with the country of origin and then determine based on the cross-referencing of the gesture, a meaning of the gesture in relation to the media asset.

Systems and methods for determining meaning of cultural gestures based on voice detection

Control circuitry may identify a media object in a frame of a media asset. Control circuitry may determine a frequency at which the media object occurs in other frames associated with the media asset. Control circuitry may compare the frequency to a threshold, and may determine, based on the comparing, that the frequency equals or exceeds the threshold. Based on determining that the frequency equals or exceeds the threshold, control circuitry may perform a search of a source external to a source of the media asset, where the search comprises searching for an indication that the media object comprises an Easter egg. Control circuitry may determine whether, based on the performing of the search, the indication was found, and, based on determining that the indication was found, execute a function relating to the Easter egg.
