A permanent magnet machine includes a machine housing having an inner surface that extends between a first housing end and a second housing end along a central longitudinal axis. The permanent magnet machine also includes a stator disposed within the machine housing, the stator having a stator core having an exterior surface extending between a first face and a second face along the central longitudinal axis, wherein the exterior surface defines a discontinuous region that is arranged to minimize points of contact between the inner surface and the exterior surface. The discontinuous region is at least partially defined by at least one of a first perturbation and a second perturbation that is circumferentially spaced apart from the first perturbation.

Permanent magnet machine

A permanent magnet machine includes a machine housing and a stator disposed within the machine housing. The machine housing has an inner surface that extends between a first housing end and a second housing end along a central longitudinal axis. The stator has a stator core having an exterior surface and an interior surface, each extending between a first face and a second face along the central longitudinal axis. The stator core defines a plurality of openings that extend from the first face towards the second face.

Permanent magnet machine stator

A permanent magnet machine includes a machine housing and a stator. The machine housing has an inner surface. The stator is disposed within the machine housing. The stator has a stator core having an exterior surface. At least one of the inner surface and the exterior surface defines a discontinuous region that is arranged to minimize points of contact between the inner surface and the exterior surface.

An interior permanent magnet synchronous machine includes a stator having electromagnetic windings and a rotor that is disposed concentric with the stator. The rotor has a plurality of rotor segments that include a first rotor segment and a second rotor segment. The first rotor segment is arranged to receive a first magnet set having first magnets that are disposed at a first pole-arc angle relative to each other. The second rotor segment is axially stacked relative to the first rotor segment along a rotor axis. The second rotor segment is arranged to receive a second magnet set having second magnets that are disposed at a second pole-arc angle relative to each other. The second pole-arc angle is different than the first pole-arc angle.

Interior permanent magnet synchronous machine

An interior permanent magnet motor includes a housing, a ring-shaped stator fixed in the housing and having a coil which generates a magnetic field when a voltage is applied, a rotor being disposed for rotation within, and relative to the ring-shaped stator. The rotor includes a shaft rotatably supported by the housing, a magnetic plate pair disposed about an outer circumference of the rotor. A triangular member is disposed between the magnetic plate pair and the shaft. The triangular member having a flat surface mated to each inner end of each magnetic plate of the magnetic plate pair. The triangular member directs flux produced by rotation of the rotor toward the stator.
