A rover includes a base having wheels and a propulsion system coupled to the wheels to propel the rover around a field. A tower is coupled to the base and extends over the base. Sensors are set on the tower and the base and are configured to sense environmental conditions around the rover at different elevations. A computing system includes a processor and memory. The memory is configured to receive measured data from the sensors and determine an amount and manner of water to be dispensed on plant life in the field.

Autonomous mobile platform and variable rate irrigation method for preventing frost damage

A water irrigation system is provided for irrigating a plurality of zones. The water irrigation system includes a set of acoustic pressure modulators for generating a set of modulated acoustic pressure signals that include an actuating pressure signal and a de-actuating pressure signal. The set of acoustic pressure modulators include different subsets. The different subsets control different ones of the plurality of zones by selectively providing the same or different ones of the actuating and de-actuating pressure signals to the different ones of the plurality of zones at any given time. The water irrigation system further includes a set of acoustically-reactive irrigating elements disposed in each of the plurality of zones, each including an acoustically-reactive oscillating disk based water emitter. The acoustically-reactive oscillating disk based water emitter is selectively actuated or de-actuated responsive to the actuating pressure signal and the de-actuating pressure signal, respectively.

Pressure driven irrigation system

Systems and a method are provided. A system includes a set of power loss detecting and reporting apparatuses. Each of the power loss detecting and reporting apparatuses includes a power loss detection circuit for detecting a local power loss. Each of the power loss detecting and reporting apparatuses further includes a cellular transmitter for transmitting (i) a preloaded code indicative of a power loss location and (ii) a time stamped alarm, to a remote designee entity using a cellular network, responsive to a detection of the power loss. The set of apparatuses collectively provide an outage pattern and sequence for a plurality of supplied locations based on the preloaded code and the time stamped alarm.

A system and method for water irrigation system are provided. The water irrigation system includes a set of pressure modulators for generating a set of modulated pressure signals that include an actuating pressure signal and a de-actuating pressure signal. The water irrigation system includes a set of irrigating elements. Each of the irrigating elements includes a water emitter connected to a pressure sensing circuit. The pressure sensing circuit is for actuating the water emitter responsive to the actuating signal and de-actuating the water emitter responsive to the de-actuating signal. The water irrigation system further includes tubing for carrying water for irrigation and the modulated pressure signals to the irrigating element.

Various embodiments provide a customized cosmetics recommendation for a specific user. In one embodiment a method comprises capturing an image that includes the face of the specific user, producing a set of hyperspectral images from the image, analyzing the hyperspectral images to determine a set of spectral components of the face, and providing a recommendation for one or more cosmetics customized for the specific user based on the set of spectral components and cosmetician expert judgement. The image may be captured using a hyperspectral imaging camera. The set of spectral components is compared to a plurality of previous sets of spectral components to find a match and one or more cosmetics mapped to the match are provided as the recommendation. Additionally, a set of conditional options may be received and one or more cosmetics mapped to the set of conditional options and the set of spectral components are provided as the recommendation.

Method system and medium for personalized expert cosmetics recommendation using hyperspectral imaging

An aerosol distribution determining system and method are provided. The system includes a set of light emitters for emitting electromagnetic radiation. The system additionally includes a set of black disks for absorbing a portion of the electromagnetic radiation emitted from the set of light emitters. The system further includes a hyperspectral imaging camera for capturing hyperspectral images of the electromagnetic radiation in an absence of and in a presence of an aerosol distribution. The system also includes a data processing system for determining at least one of a size, a vertical density distribution, and a shape of particles in the aerosol distribution based information derived using the hyperspectral images.

Size distribution determination of aerosols using hyperspectral image technology and analytics

An aerosol distribution determining system is provided. The system includes a set of pairs. Each of the pairs includes a light emitter mounted to a black object for respectively emitting electromagnetic radiation and absorbing a portion of the electromagnetic radiation. The system further includes a hyperspectral imaging camera for capturing hyperspectral images of the electromagnetic radiation in an absence of and in a presence of an aerosol distribution. The system also includes a data processing system for determining at least one of a size, a vertical density distribution, and a shape of particles in the aerosol distribution based on information derived using the hyperspectral images.

A controllable emitter of an irrigation apparatus including a drip line and a control station configured to control a pressure of pressurized fluid in the drip line is provided. The controllable emitter is disposable along the drip line and includes a container coupled to the drip line, the container being formed to define an interior and including an inlet through which the pressurized fluid is receivable in the interior from the drip line and an outlet through which the pressurized fluid is exhaustible from the interior, a piston, including a magnetic element, disposed at least partially in the container to occupy a position in accordance with the pressure of the pressurized fluid and a sensor configured to sense a position of the magnetic element and to communicate a sensed position to the control station.

A method for fabricating the phase change memory cells. The method includes forming an electrically conductive bottom electrode within a substrate. A heat shield is formed within the substrate and above the bottom electrode. The heat shield is thermally coupled to the bottom electrode, includes a sidewall and extends away from the bottom electrode. A heating element is formed within the sidewall of the heat shield. The heating element is electrically coupled to the bottom electrode and is configured to generate heat during programming of the phase change memory cell.
