A tension-mounted pole caddy for mounting between two substantially parallel surfaces is disclosed. The pole device generally includes a first tubular body, a second tubular body, a toothed rack, a locking pawl, and a base-mounted lever for operation of the locking pawl. Preferably, the first tubular body includes a base end for contacting a surface and a telescoping end, while the second tubular body has a base end for contacting a second surface and a telescoping end coupled with the telescoping end of the first body. The toothed rack is affixed within the first body portion proximate the telescoping end, with the locking pawl within the second body and capable of movement to engage and disengage the toothed rack. The lever is coupled to the locking pawl via linkage, such that operation of the lever between a first and second position actuates the locking pawl to engage and disengage, respectively, from the toothed rack, wherein the lever is positioned at the base end of the second tubular body.

An apparatus and method for selectively controlling an animal or pet's access to food is provided by a platform that moves with relation to a base. A lever is connected between the chassis of the platform and the base, whereby parallel movement of the chassis towards the base causes an arm of the lever to engage a door adapted to prevent access to the food. An opposing force is provided and preferably adjustable by the user so the user can set the weight sufficient to cause movement between the platform and the base. The device can be constructed either to prevent access or to allow access to the food upon movement of the platform.

Apparatus and methods for controlling an animal's access to food

The present invention provides a rack including fingers which are pivotally mounted so that when an actuator is moved to an extended condition the fingers will simultaneously move to an extended position approximately perpendicular to the upper surface of the rack so that items may be placed thereon for uses such as drying. The fingers are pivotally attached to the actuator so that, upon movement to a retracted position, the fingers will pivot downward and to a retracted position below the upper surface providing a flat rack that is easily stored. The rack also includes a liquid indicator for identifying whether liquid is present within a base of the rack.

The present invention provides for a food peeler having a removable blade that includes an end received in a bore of the food peeler handle and a resilient member is mounted adjacent to the end of the blade and allows for the blade to be moved between a centered and offset position so that the blade may be removed and replaced. A tool is provided in order to remove and replace the blade.

A rotating article dispenser is provided for receiving and dispensing articles, such as a paper towel roll. The dispenser includes a handle which may be easily attached and removed by use of a clamping head provided in the handle which clamps around a bulb protruding from a first end of a tube. Upon depression of a button attached to the clamping head, the head may be released from the bulb so that the handle may be removed from the first end of the dispenser tube.

A fluid-dispensing kitchen apparatus has a body including a fluid reservoir and a handle, the reservoir being closed by an end plate which is welded to the body and is, in turn, latched to a cleaning medium block. An embodiment has a resilient tab on the block engaging an edge of the housing plate. Aligned holes through the plate and the block which provide communication between the reservoir and the plate is openable and closeable by a valve actuated by an increase in pressure provided by depressing a resilient button. In an embodiment, the resilient button includes a bias member to return the button to its rest position.

A method and apparatus for providing protection in connection with the cutting edge of a blade of a generally Y-shaped conventional kitchen peeler or cutter comprising a guard pivotally attached to the extension arms extending from the handle of the peeler, whereby the guard is pivotal between a guarding position immediately adjacent the cutting edge of the peeler blade and a non-guarding position exposing the cutting edge of the peeler blade for use.
