Conference Systems are commonly used in meeting rooms or plenary halls to support the discussion of a plurality of participants. Such Conference Systems may comprise more than 50 or 100 microphone equipped delegate units, whereby each delegate unit can be assigned to a participant of the discussion. A delegate unitfor a Conference System is proposed, the delegate unit comprises a base body, a microphone stem bodycomprising a microphone headand a stem, whereby the microphone headis arranged on the stemand whereby the microphone stem bodyis arranged on the base body, whereby the microphone headhas a directional microphone characteristic.

A high directivity boundary microphone () is disclosed, build up of a normal unidirectional microphone element () with cardioid-directivity behavior. The microphone element () is placed on a holder plate (), with a membrane () of the microphone element () facing a plane () where a holder (), comprising the holder plate () and a holder feet (), is placed upon. The holder () ensures that the microphone element () is aligned at an angle () of preferably 35&#xb0; respective to the plane (). In this position, the microphone element () can detect direct sound () in a defined speech area (A,B) as well as delayed sound () that is reflected at the plane () beneath the microphone element (). Outside the defined speech area (A,B) the sensitivity is strongly reduced.
